"Then... Betty disappeared. Just faded into thin air. After that, we got Shane on the horse and rushed him to the infirmary. Mila and her healers took it from there. Shane felt like nothing happened to him after his 3 days in there."

Kody felt strange.

Having a conversation with the gravestone of his deceased friends was not on his top 10 hobbies.

But he did it anyway. It helped relieve the stress. A little.

Besides, he wasn't the only one who narrated the story.

Next to him was the rest of the wizards; Shane Goldburn, Mila Rutrow, & Rin Winterway.

They sat on a picnic blanket, happily munching on some apples and sipping lemonade. (Rin preferred Fiji apples, but Golden delicious apples are ok.)

For some reason, their conversation with Roy and Ellie's gravestones didn't end there.

They went from talking about democracy,  to talking about the never-dying debate on the liberation of hamsters.  (That all started with Kody saying he always wanted to set Roy's old hamster "Latte" free. [Unfortunately, Latte died before he got to taste freedom.])

A pleasant, welcoming breeze lazily passed through them, ruffling their hair and occasionally sending leaves their way.

This day meant a lot to them. It was a break. A tiny celebration for saving an entire race (and themselves).

They could breathe a lot easier now. The kingdom no longer had to worry about some murderer. And aparently, Agate & Copper has a cousin on their mother's side. One with the name of Coraline Grey.

Because the wizards see she's wise and fit to rule, (and because she's the only living person related to the Lightvales) she'll be in charge of the kingdom from now on. There will be a coronation and after that...

They can all finally go home.

Everything was back on track.

But as usual, Rin's conscience would not shut up.

She still felt guilty.

Guilty for having to be the one to swear to never release the monsters. But in all honesty, she really did want to free them. The only personal reason she did not want to free them was because of her conscience. She felt like things between monsters and humans will never be the same. That they would never forgive her for killing monsters in the war.

Of course, she'll apologize to them if ever they were freed.

But that won't happen because of their situation.

Now the monsters will never know that Rin wanted to apologize to them.

Rin pushed the thought away quickly, turning her attention back to Kody's long speech about freedom for the hamsters.

"Let's all admit, they are cute. But are we really willing to let these cute little creatures spend their entire cute lives inside cute cages festooned with cute ribbons?" Kody blabbed. "Life's too short to spend all of it inside a cage!"

"Look at it this way: we're saving them from predators. If they were free to roam around outside, they'd be chased be dogs, harassed by cats, and, god forbid, stepped on by people! Liberating them would bring about their extinction!" Shane countered.

Rin tried her best not to show that she was affected by the last of Shane's words.

Yet again, her mind wandered away from the debate.
