A knock on the door made her look up from her usual activity: staring at the wall.

"Mila?" Said Rin's muffled voice.

Mila stared at the Mahogany doors of her chamber. But she didn't stand up.

"Mila, I know you're there. Please open up."

Rin scowled a little. She decided she won't wait for Mila to open the door for her. So she opened it, but she did it hesitantly.

Rin saw Mila, sitting by the side of her bed, staring blankly at her. Mila then resumed her 'activity', ignoring Rin.

Rin sat next to her.

"Hi Mila. I...er, see your afternoon has been uneventful." Rin said, nervously clutching her arm.

Mila stayed silent.

"So... how are you feeling?" Rin asked.

Mila simply closed her eyes and shook her head ever so slightly.

Rin winced.

She then decided small talk won't help. She wanted to be direct to the point.

"H-how is your soul doing...?"

Mila's expression remained devoid of any emotion, but she raised her hand slowly up to her chest. A grey soul appeared, hovering above her palm.

Mila lost her trait.

Her kindness.

Rin's face fell. She thought how ironic the situation was; Mila was usually the one to check whether a person if fine; she'd be poring all over you if you were sick or sad.

Rin flashed back to 3 days ago.

"Are you sure?" Rin had asked, her voice hoarse. Her voice echoed through the cathedral.

She refused to leave her sister. She only ever took breaks when needed. It wouldn't last for long anyway. Their burial was the next day, so she might as well hold on.

Mila smiled kindly at her.

"Yes. I'll be back. Just... a late night stroll... er - it's just... very, very late. Or... early, if you look at it at another angle.

"Alright then." Rin said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Bye, Rin."

"Bye, Mila."

Rin was left to her thoughts in the barely-illuminated Cathedral.

Rin closed her eyes lightly, reminiscing the past events. It was painful, looking back at past conversations. And the images that flashed through her head only made it worse.

Breathe. Stop it Rin.

She took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Where would Ellie and Roy be now?" She wondered aloud.

Nothing but silence answered back.

"I wonder about that, too." Said Ellie.

Rin's eyes flew open in alarm. Her head jerked in the direction of the voice. And sure enough, Ellie was there.
