Rainbows and choices

I walked up the stairs. After that you could only go to the right. Still I stopped. This corner with the stairs was my favorite place in the entire Rainbow factory. All because of something that is only smaller than a quarter of an inch in size. An error in the factory's disign had caused a small crack. It was difficult to push a sheet of paper through it. Still it was big enough for me. You couldn't see through it, but what made it such a great place was the fact that a little bit of fresh air was blowing in there. I let the slit of wind blow on my face. It just gave me that little bit of energy that I would otherwise have too short to survive such a working day. I continued down the corridor and entered the meeting room. 'Nice on time. As I'm used to from you. You never came late even at school. We are only waiting for River Wing and Fighting Blade. " Rainbow Dash said when I walked in. "I would never let you wait, Headmare Dash." I said politely. 'That's the spirit. Ah, Fighting Blade. There you are. Now just River Wing and we can start. " Said Rainbow Dash. A gray Pegasus had just arrived. He had a short white mane and tail and a sword as a cutie mark. Fighting Blade was the head of protection, attack and guard, or the P.A.G. It was clear to that he had already been through a lot. He was wearing a black eye patch over his right eye from which various blood-red scars came from. The longest scar ran all over his face, down to his neck. He had a recent cut on his other eye. His gaze was cold and emotionless. I used to be shocked by such a look, but here almost everyone looked like that. We waited 10 minutes in silence for the door to open again. "Sorry I'm late. One of the failures tried to escape and that is only time-consuming. " Said the green pegasus that came in. His mane were long and blue. His voice was cold and reminded you of a dungeon door slamming. His cutie mark was ... strange. It was a horizontal black line with three shorter vertical lines pointing upwards. Normally I would point this out to someone who is too late, but River Wing was above me, so I was so wise to keep my mouth shut.

Besides me, Rainbow Dash, Fighting Blade and Riverwing, there were three more pegases at the table. Robo Fly, Techno Fly and Rainbow cloud. Robo Fly was a dark blue pegasus. She was the head of the Rainbow factory for a long time, but then left it to Rainbow Dash, much to the annoyance of her younger sister, Techno Fly, who had hoped for leadership. Robo Fly had black with red mane and tail. Her cutie mark was a screwdriver. She had a glass eye and there were several metal feathers in her left wing because over time she had lost too many to fly. Techno Fly was a light orange pegasus. Her mane and tail were blue and black, just like mine, but we didn't look alike at all. For some reason her wings were not the same color as her fur. Her wings consisted of dark blue feathers. Her cutie mark was a screw. Rainbow cloud was a white pegasus with rainbow mane and tail. Her mane and tail were incredibly long, unlike Rainbow Dash. Her cutie mark was a rainbow.

"I'm glad we can start. I know there has been some chaos since Scootaloo and her friends almost escaped last week. " Said Rainbow Dash. She put all the hatred she could feel in Scootaloo's name. Scootaloo had been the only one who had kept a bit of sanity in Rainbow Dash. When she failed her test, it was destroyed and Rainbow Dash personally killed her. I happened to have been around when she did that. I still remember Scootaloo's last words. "You have beautiful eyes" I think it made no sense, but maybe there was some meaning behind it. In any case, it would surprise me if Applebloom and Sweetie Belle didn't came to find her. But every trace of Scootaloo was gone. As if she had never existed. Maybe she could have escaped if Rainbow Dash had not been at the factory. Rainbow Dash should never have been here. She was brought here as a foal. The trauma has caused her to go insane . That created the pony that I was sitting for. Rainbow Dash was brought to the Rainbow factory after her Sonic Rainboom. They had thought she would be able to make rainbows. That was't true. It turned out to be a physical and chemical reaction with the wind speed blowing past her when she reaches a certain speed and her rainbow-colored mane. I came in there. Less than a week after my flighttest I was just trying here and there. Before I knew it I had done a Sonic Rainboom myself. Nobody knows. Everyone thinks it came from Rainbow Dash. Because I have no rainbow mane to respond with, they thought that I would be able to make rainbows. At first I didn't want to, but they threatened to fail me and Snow Star. I could handle that, but I didn't want to ruin Snow Stars chances. Now that I know where the Failures are going I am totally happy that I did it. When it turned out that I couldn't make rainbows, they employed me here. I knew too much. I couldn't go back. I was so young and they couldn't take the risk that I talked about what happens in the Rainbow factory. That is why I've been here for almost a year.

'Don't worry about it all now. It's over and nobody has escaped. From now on when the failures arrive, we tie their wings and hang them all together with chains. It's difficult for them to flee if they are all bound together with chains. Said Rainbow Dash. 'Techno Fly, you're the one who greets the ponies when they come in.
