Rainbows and choices

'We heard about your siblings. If there is anything we can do?' Asked Ocellus. 'I'll get over it.' I said. My friends nodded sympathetically and I wondered if they were really that bad in recognizing my emotionless tone. I saw Music Shine in the corner of my eye. She clearly had a hard time losing her best friend. 'Let's go to sleep. We got school tomorrow.' I said. 'Shall we all study together tomorrow night for the loyalty test of the day after tomorrow?' Silverstream asked. 'I can't. I have to work.' I said and I walked away.

I flew back to school from the Rainbow factory. I hadn't yet learned for Rainbow's test for tomorrow, but I had arranged with her that she would not let me fail. She knew it was that or release me more from the Rainbow factory. It was already dark and it certainly had to be late at night. The screams of Fleur Flowers and Sara Sunshine echoed through my mind. Because Sara still belonged to the previous group of failures, she now had to go first and I would never let Fleur live with the thought that her sister was dead and the same was waiting for her. So I killed them together. I remembered how the light went out in their eyes and for a moment the corners of the mouth lifted in a small smile. I landed and walked through the school as quietly as possible. In the student room I saw that Gallus was still doing some late night studying for the test.

'Where are you comming from?' He asked. 'Work.' I said briefly. 'If you want to talk about your brother and sister or something, I'm here.' He said. 'I'm okay. You go back to your studies. Otherwise you will fail for your test.' I said. 'Don't you have to study?' He asked. 'I have already studied.' I lied. 'Really, when?' He asked. 'You ask too many questions, Gallus. Good night.' I said and I walked away.

The next morning we had kindness lessons from Professor Shy. 'Sorry for the few weeks of interruption, but today we will continue with responsibility. Now you have to take care of baby bunnies.' Fluttershy said. I got a very cute brown bunny. It was a nice lesson. The cute baby rabbit really cheered me up. I smiled. In the corner of my eye I saw my friends looking satisfied. They hadn't seen me smile like that in ages. I was carefully combing my bunny. Music Shine passed by. She had just put her brush away and went to get a carrot for her rabbit. She seemed lost in her thoughts. This is how she looked more often these days. She probably thought of Fleur.

Suddenly she stumbled and almost fell on my rabbit. My bunny, which I had called Brownie, was shocked and ran away. 'Wait, Brownie! Come back!' I shouted, but Brownie ran towards the window and jumped out. He landed on the branch of a tree. He jumped from branch to branch until he was down and then ran away. Fluttershy also jumped through the window and quickly flew after the frightened bunny.

Furiously I turned to Music Shine. 'That was MY rabbit!' I said furiously. 'I'm so sorry, Black Blue. Take my rabbit for the rest of the lesson.' Said Music Shine. 'I don't want your rabbit, I want Brownie. BUT BECAUSE OF YOU HE'S GONE! I cried. In a fit of anger, I turned and kicked hard at Music Shine. In the Rainbow factory, if failures are too ambitious, we do the same. After a year of failiurs, I had learned to kick hard. Music Shine flew back a few meters and landed hard on the ground. Two blue-purple horseshoe-shaped spots appeared on her side and the wing I had hit was held in a strange position. He was definitely broken. She cried and looked scared at me.

I approached her furiously. Gallus jumped in front of her with wings spread in a position that seemed like a mishmash of defense and attack. 'That's enough, Black Blue!' He said. 'Get out my way!' I shouted angry. Smolder came to stand next to Gallus. 'No! Calm down first! ' She said. 'It was an accident, you don't have to get so upset about that.' Said Silverstream who landed between Gallus and Music Shine. Both Gallus, Smolder and Silverstream kept their wings open to block my view of Music Shine. Behind them I could just see Sandbar talking softly to Music Shine, probably reassuring. Out of pure anger, I started to move my wings and hovered a bit in the air. I noticed that Yona grabbed my tail to prevent me from attacking again.

'Mind your own business! She's the one who ruined my grades, she's the one who has to pay!' I cried. 'Nobody here has to pay!' Said Smolder. 'LET ME PASS!' I cried. 'WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?' Gallus shouted. I landed and pulled my tail loose. That question hurt. From the inside. Where my heart once was. 'There is a lot wrong with me.' I said and I turned around. Without saying another word, I flew away.

5 minutes later I was on the roof of the school. I shouted. Not so much words. Rather a scream. A scream of anger. I thought about Gallus' question. What was wrong with me? I don't know. But surely something, otherwise I would never have just attacked anyone.
