Rainbows and choices

I woke up with a shock. This nightmare didn't differ much from the previous nightmares, yet it was worse. Purely by the fact that tomorrow my nightmare would become reality. I had no choice. In one choise, I would kill my girlfriend Snow Star and win the respect of Rainbow Dash. In the other choise, I refused and someone else would kill Snow Star and then kill me. I looked at death in a very different way than most ponies. I saw ponies die every day. It was an everyday thing. Still, I couldn't just kill my girlfriend. Unlike Rainbow Dash, who had lost its sanity since Scootaloo had ruined her test, I couldn't just kill my friends without mercy. I felt sick myself. I arrived at the toilet just in time before I vomited.

The next morning I woke up on the floor in the bathroom. At first I couldn't remember what I was doing there, but then everything came back. I felt as if I had to throw up again, but my stomach was empty. I was smart enough not to have breakfast. Far too early the failures arrived. The first 2 schools were unknown to me, but my heart almost stopped at the third and last. There she stood. Along with a beautiful yellow pegasus with brown mane. Tears streamed down Snow Stars cheeks. I could hardly see it. 'Welcome to the Rainbow factory! My name is Techno Fly. Now stand still or you will have to deal with our tesers.' Said Techno Fly as she tied the wings to both pegasi and then hung them together with metal chains. Only the leather bands that held the wings hung together. The chain was long enough so that both could still walk. 'This can't be The Weather factory. I've been there so many times.' Snow Star said. 'The Rainbow factory is a separate part. Normally ponies are not allowed here. And what makes you think you know so much about the Weather factory?' Asked Techno Fly. 'I work there. In the winter department.' Snow Star said. 'DO NOT TRY TO TALK YOURSELF OUT OF IT WITH I HAVE A JOB AT THE WEATHER FACTORY! I HAVE ENJOYED THAT KIND OF LIES AND STORIES HERE MORE THAN YOU COULD IMAGINE!' yelled Techno Fly. 'It's not a lie. It is true.' Snow Star said. 'Do you know how we punish lies of failures here? We dewing them. You get one last chance to tell the truth before we cut off your wings. Repeat after me. I am a worthless failure.' Techno Fly said. 'But I ...' Snow Star began. 'DO NOT LIE!' Shouted Techno Fly and she knocked Snow Star to the ground. 'Hey!' I shouted and I flew to Techno Fly. Techno Fly was in a rank above me, but I didn't let her cut off my friend's wings. 'She's not lying. She tells the truth. You can't punish her. She works in the winter department to make snowflakes.' I said quietly to Techno Fly. 'How do you know that?' asked Techno Fly annoyed. 'I've seen it.' I said calmly. 'Fine! You 2, follow me.' She said and she walked away while the two young ponies followed her anxiously. I smiled at Snow Star, but then I relized that I was wearing a mask and that Snow Star had no idea who had stood up for her. I also left quickly. I had to stand next to Rainbow Dash when she addressed the failures.

I only listened to Rainbow Dash's explanation half. My attention only came back when the foal that had arrived with Snow Star started to scream. 'I trusted you. You are the element of Loyalty. How can you do such a thing, Proffessor Dash?' She shouted. 'My loyalty goes for the Rainbow factory and for the pegasi. I don't care about the rest. Now keep your mouth shut before I change my mind and use you as an example!' Rainbow Dash shouted. Only now did I recognize the foal. She also attended the school of friendship, but not in my year. I've seen her a few times, but never really met her. 'Now the last rule, liars or those trying to escape, are stripped of their wings. We chop them off! Is that clear?' Said Rainbow Dash. 'WHAT!?!' Called a pony that was on the front right. He was a green pegasus with a red mane. I just laughed. He didn't even have his cutie mark yet. His true talent would clearly not have been flying, otherwise he would not have been here now. Rainbow Dash looked furiously at the colt. She said nothing so that the pony could continue. 'They always say that stripping a pegasus of its wings is the biggest shame that exists. That it is unfair and that you can't go any lower. They say it's the worst thing anyone can do too a pegasus.' He said. That was true. A pegasus without wings is not just an earth pony. Pegasi have other magical properties. Like walking on clouds. Other flying creatures such as griffons and changelings could not. What really makes it that horrible is the fact that a pegasus has already experienced the freedom of flying by himself. If you take that away ... You can't describe it.

In fact, they didn't have to worry about it. It was more of a threat than a fact. We had never effectively chopped anyone's wings off. After our threat, nopony dared to cross the line. 'Oh, you have no idea how far we want to go. We kill ponies here every day without even blinking. Do you really think we care that it is unfair to remove wings?' Asked Rainbow Dash. Tears ran down the pony's cheeks. His tears didn't hurt me. The tears that most ponies were crying didn't bother me. Only the tears of Snow Star. I had to switch off my emotions. If I allowed them now, if only for a short while, I would not be able to finish the business later. 'Let's not waste any more time and start our example. Take off your mask. The best part is to see your own face reflect in those fear eyes before they die.' Rainbow Dash said to me. I was sure that was not the reason why she wanted me to take off my mask. This was all just a test. A test to see if I had it in me. A test to see if I was loyal to the Rainbow factory. A test to see if I could look my friends in the eye when I killed them. And I wasn't going to fail. By now, I knew what happened to ponies that failed testing.
