biting her lower lip to prevent her husband from hearing, she weeped silently. she was careful not to wake him up as she didn't want him to worry.

but he isn't dumb. he's not the ceo of a well-known top enterprise for no reason.

although one might say he's workaholic and only spends a few hours in their abode, he never missed how lisa's eyes looked puffy in the morning. it seemed like hiding her dark circles with a concealer wasn't enough.

but she tried, she always tried her best to smile brightly at breakfast as she cooked for him. even though she spaced out often and ate only a few, she still smiled, not wanting yunhyeong to worry.

even though they faced their backs toward each other, he knew how she cried every night as he pretended to be asleep. he'd hear her quiet sobs, and her sniffing every now and then.

and it broke his heart to know all that.

from the day they exchanged their vows, he promised himself that he'd give happiness to lisa, no matter what.

he thought he was already making her happy, but little did he know, he just blinded himself for his own happiness.

he knew he was selfish, and guilt was already eating him up.

"where are we going?" i asked as soon as i got in the car.

yunhyeong was acting quite weird this morning. he woke up earlier than me today and even made breakfast, which was my job to begin with.

he also enveloped me in a long hug as soon as i greeted good morning, which is unlikely since he isn't usually a clingy person.

and then after breakfast, he tells me to change clothes but he didn't tell me where we're off to.

"i'm not sure if my outfit is fit for this event." i said, showcasing my casual outfit.

i wore a fitted white long-sleeved turtleneck, checkered beige short skirt, black slingbag, and a buckle belt to top it off.

i mean, this is too inappropriate for a formal event.

he let out a chuckle before responding, "don't worry, you look amazing."

i smiled in relief, thinking it wouldn't be another one of his formal events.

i rested my chin on my hand as i gazed by the window beside me. the sky turned light blue as we left the garage and entered the road.

the stars weren't anymore visible at this time of the day, but two small stars that looked like small diamonds twinkled against the clear sky.

i ignored the heavy feeling on my eyelids as i admired the scenery.

i didn't know the sky at dawn would be this beautiful.

i woke up upon feeling a tap on my shoulder and a soft voice.

my eyes wandered the place... there were grass, some trees, a bench facing away from us, and more grass.

"where are we?" i asked as he escorted me outside the car.

"at some hilltop." he replied. "this is... a special place. i used to go here with my parents, but now, i only went here alone when i missed them." he added, sadness evident in his tone.
