i'm sorry for taking too long but here's an update as you all wished 😁

"table reservation for song yunhyeong."

"yes sir. this way, please." the receptionist led us to a room enclosed by a big velvet curtain which showcased a round table with a golden tablecloth and frills and two golden seats with velvet cushions.

as the gentleman he is, yunhyeong escorted me to my seat as soon as the receptionist had left.

i looked around the spacious room and admired the marble white walls, the golden chandelier above, and the elegant rose on the table.

never in my whole life i imagined that i'd be eating in a place like this.

i was busy mesmerizing the grand restaurant we're in at this moment until a waitress entered the room and served the dishes.

"you already ordered beforehand?" i asked the guy in front of me.

"yup. steak here takes a long time to cook and i thought you might get hungry." he said and raised his glass of wine. "a toast to our 1st anniversary." he said and grinned.

i raised my glass as well until our glasses made a clinking sound. "happy anniversary." i said and smiled.

yup, we're having our anniversary in a grand 5-star restaurant, which i wasn't aware of. yunhyeong even bought a dress for me to wear on this event.

"i have a gift for you." he said and took out a velvet box.

"another gift? but you already bought me this dress." i said.

i don't think i can accept any more gifts. he had already wasted a lot of money for this day and i don't think it's right for me to accept any more even though he is my husband.

"this is a different one."

"but yun—"

"this'll be the last one, i promise." he stood up from his chair and opened the box, which revealed a simple yet sophisticated jewellery.

he went behind me as i felt the cold metal envelope my neck. the pendant had a small silver heart, and i thought it kind of complimented my dress.

"i wouldn't mind spending money if i'd be spending it for you." he said and returned to his seat whilst flashing a sweet smile.

i didn't know how to thank him any more for everything he had done for me.

i guess the only way i could repay him is to love him back just like the way he loves me.

if only i could... if only it was that easy to move on.

it's been 1 year of trying yet he's still in my mind every now and then.

"you've already given a lot to me but i haven't given you anything yet." i frowned.

i took out a white box and handed it to him.

"i thought of giving you a gift but i didn't know what you wanted since you literally have everything. i'm sorry." i said, feeling apologetic as he opened the box.

"no, i love it! thank you so much, lisa. you don't know how much you made me happy and how much you always make me happy." he flashed a smile, that of which reached his eyes.

it was only a simple handkerchief i bought from the money i've been saving up for the past month from all the part-time jobs i had.

"this might seem funny but this is the first time i got a handkerchief. i don't have any of these in my wardrobe." he let out a soft laugh. "i'll make sure to cherish this." he continued.

it might just be that simple of a gift but seeing how sincere he is makes my heart warm and it makes me really happy.

"i'll just use the restroom for a second." i excused myself as i felt a sudden urge from my bladder.

"okay."

as i got out of the cubicle, i fixed myself in front of the mirror and instantly noticed how my necklace shone.

it made me look... different.

a good kind of different.

i left the restroom and was on my way to go back to our table until i accidentally bumped onto somebody.

"i'm sorry! i didn't mean to—"

"lisa?"

i almost jumped upon hearing a familiar voice. it was very familiar— specifically the one i used to hear all the time a year ago.

thinking that it was him, i didn't bother taking a look at his face and started thinking of a way to get out of this situation immediately.

"i'm sorry, i'm really in a hurry so can you please ex—"

"i missed you so much." i was surprised when he suddenly pulled me and enveloped me into a tight hug.

and at this moment i thought maybe he could even feel how fast my heart is beating right now.

i don't know what to do, i practically froze at my spot. a part of me wants to hug him back and say that i also missed him, but another part of me wants to push him since this is wrong and i have my husband waiting for me.

in the end, my instinct made me do the latter...

...which i think i kind of regretted doing.

"i-i'm sorry, i was just so overwhelmed." he said with a big grin on his face.

"you look gorgeous." he continued. "that necklace suits you a lot."

"t-thanks. yunhyeong gave this to me." i quietly said and averted my gaze.

"yunhyeong?"

"yes?" i was surprised when another figure appeared beside me.

"i've been looking for you lisa. i thought you were already lost." yunhyeong worriedly said.

"i'm sorry, i bumped into someone."

"it seems like both of you know each other. is he your friend?" he asked.

"no, he just mistook me for someone else." i said, avoiding jungkook's gaze at all cost.

i don't know and i couldn't predict what his reaction is right now or what he might be thinking of right now, but all i know is that this situation isn't good and we need to get out of this soon enough.

"i see. shall we continue our dinner?"

"yeah, i think we should."

as soon as yunhyeong and i left, i started telling myself not to look back since i don't want to see the look on his face,

but i failed.

the moment i turned my head, he was also looking back at me and i noticed there was something from his eyes...

...sadness.
