Percy's POV
Things definitely felt wrong when Piper and Jason were eyeing me this morning, whispering to each other once in a while. I didn't go up to ask, and was happy to get out of the going-to-be-awkward situation while I could when Frank and Hazel walked up to me. Frank and I brofisted while Hazel just rolled her eyes at us and laughed.
"So...I heard you like Annabeth huh?" Hazel asked, nudging me. I blushed a crimson red before nodding. I told her about how I asked Nico, her half brother, to help me in winning Annabeth over.
"What?! You asked Nico to help you?" She gave me a disapproving look. "You could've just went up to her and confess, you know. Isn't it weird to be asking someone else? Especially a guy." She finished off. I considered her views for a moment. A wave of emotions washed over me and I was reminded of when I asked for Nico's help.
He stuttered while answering me.
He said I was hot. (though I still don't get why)
Is it just me or do I only realise now that he might not have been thinking straight when he answered me.
I groaned in frustration. Hazel was right. It is weird to be asking a guy for stuff like this. I made a mistake but since Nico already agreed, why not give it a shot?
"Hello? Percy? Are you still there?" She asked, pulling me back to reality. I nodded weakly before giving a small wave and walking off quickly. I probably acted unusual but I had no time to think about that. When I saw Nico walking to class, I stopped him halfway.
"WTH Percy?! What do you want?" Nico asked looking down at his watch.
"Don't worry...I'll make this quick. I might have talked with Hazel just now and..."
"And what, Percy? Look, I'm rushing for time so if you will excuse me." He gently pushed me aside and ran off, leaving me rooted to the ground. After regaining my senses, I frowned and made my way to class. I was ALREADY late.
I crept into the classroom through the backdoor, hoping to slip into my seat without the teacher noticing but she had eyes like a hawk. Her voice boomed across the room.
"Perseus Jackson?" I cursed inwardly. I always went by 'Percy' so hearing someone call me 'Perseus' made me feel like a different person. Slowly, I turned around.
"Yes, Mrs Tyler?" I gave her my innocent look.
"Well, you're late for my class. Don't you owe me an apology?"
"O-of course. Sorry, Mrs Tyler, I'll try not to be late again." I said and there was a hint of satisfaction on her face. She turned back to the board and continued her lesson. Maybe she let me off this once because I was never late before.
I heaved a sigh of relief and took out my books. What happened earlier? Why was Nico seemingly pissed with me? Did realisation finally hit him and he knew that he had to help me with the whole Annabeth thing? All the more I have to have a talk with him. I really don't want to force Nico to help me if he doesn't want to.
I care too much to be forcing him.
The Blood Of Olympus is finally out! OMG...I'm sooooo excited! Kay...hope you enjoyed this chapter!!!
