Steve's POV
I was waiting for JJ in our hotel room. She finally walked in. "What took so long?" I asked.
"I had to help Danny clean the living room," JJ dropped her carry on in the chair. "He made a mess looking for the remote."
"That doesn't explain why you're late."
"He was tailing me. I had to lose him," JJ sighed. "But I'm here and we can still have dinner."
"Typical Danny," I smiled.
"I can handle him," JJ nodded. "Besides, I'm not going to miss our day together."
"Okay, well, what do you want for dinner?" I asked.
"I'm feeling adventurous," JJ replied. "What did you have in mind for dinner?"
"Dinner under the stars," I smiled. "Anything you want to eat, we'll have it under the stars."
"How about steak?" JJ asked. "We'll order steak from room service and stay indoors."
"You want to stay indoors?" I asked. "You said you're feeling adventurous."
"I change my mind," JJ states as she sat in my lap. "Besides, we have all day tomorrow."
"For someone who's a Christian girl, Miss Williams, sure does have a dirty mind," I smiled.
"In your dreams, Commander," JJ have me a kiss. "Oh, I do have a question for you." I looked at her. "Aloha Nani Baptist Church is having a sort of prom for the members there. Me, being the worship leader, I'm not showing up without a date. So, Steve, will you be my date tomorrow to the prom?"
"Yeah," I smiled. "Of course I'll be your date."
"Thanks," JJ smiled.
"What are you wearing?" I asked.
"You can just wear your Navy uniform," JJ nodded. "My dress is at the church." The night of her church prom came by a little too fast and I wish I had more time to spend with her. We were the first to arrive and she went to change. She came back in a blue gown. "How do I look?"
"You look beautiful," I replied as I looked at her. "I think you look better than me and that's saying a lot."
"Stop," JJ smiled.
"JJ," a guy walked up to us. "Hey, people are here. You ready to start us off?"
"Yeah, Kenyon," JJ replied. "Start the intro and I'll be up soon."
"Here," Kenyon handed her a mic. "I figured you might need that."
"Thanks," JJ smiled as he left. I looked at her. "What?"
"Does he swing that way?" I asked.
"Kenyon is into females," JJ replied. "I know, he doesn't sound like it but he is. Besides, I got you." I looked at her. "He's a sweetheart. He is the one who pushed me into the spotlight on my first day here. That's how I'm the worship leader here."
