JJ's POV
I woke up to a steady beeping. I opened my eyes and saw the heart monitor. I saw an IV in my arm. Steve walked in holding a cup of coffee. "Steve?" I asked.
"Hey," Steve rushed over. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I nodded. "My head hurts a little bit."
"When the bomb went off, you dove into the hallways but the blast made you hit your head," Steve replied. "You had a concussion."
"Well, I'm glad that I woke up and the first face I see is my husband's," I smiled.
"Wait, did you just call me your husband?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, and I would really like my ring back, please?" I asked. Steve smiled and put my ring back on my finger. "Thank you."
"So, you remember me?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, and I remember not remembering you," I replied. "I just hope it doesn't happen again. I love you, Steve. I always will." Shaw walked in. "Hey Deckard."
"Hey," Shaw smiled. "You doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm doing great and I think I'm going to go back home to Hawaii after this," I stated.
"Are you sure?" Shaw asked.
"I have my memory back," I nodded. "I don't need you anymore."
"Did you guys sleep in the same bed?" Steve asked. "One at a time please."
"We did sleep in the same bed as far as I know, but nothing happened. I would wake up every morning and he would be making breakfast for me," I replied. "I had breakfast in bed. He was sweet. I don't know where that guy came from."
"Look, we didn't go to bed at the same time. I laid in bed while she went to sleep. Once I knew she was fully out, I went to the living room and slept on the couch," Shaw replied. "I would never disrespect another man's girl like that. Even though she lost her memory, it would've been easy for me to take advantage of her but I didn't." Shaw looked at Steve. "JJ's found someone she loves. I wasn't going to ruin that for you guys."
"Steve, why didn't you try?" I asked.
"You can't tell somebody that they love you," Steve replied. "The feelings we had took time to develop. I would've kept trying to win your heart the next year or so." I smiled. "That's how much you know I love you."
"What happened to the Backstreet Boys?" I asked.
"Well, after talking to their manager, they agreed it was safer for them to keep moving than stay here and let us have our prized weekend," Steve stated as he sat on the bed next to me. "Apparently, we're a danger to them, but that's okay. I get to take you home later this evening and everyone is ready for you to come home."
"I'm ready to go back to my ohana back in Hawaii," I nodded. Steve stayed with me all day while I was there. I said goodbye to my own team as they came in spurts. Shaw stayed there till I was discharged. We got back to Hawaii and into our home a surprise party was thrown. "Guys."
"You still remember your brother?" Danny asked.
"I remember all of you," I smiled as I hugged them. "That concussion saved Steve's life."
"Yeah, I thought I was going to have to win her all over again," Steve replied.
"But you're okay, right, Auntie J?" Grace asked.
"Yes, I am," I smiled as I hugged her.
"You're not mad at me?" Grace asked.
"No, I'm not mad. I understood why you told Steve," I looked at her. "You were just looking out for me. Honestly, I probably wouldn't be here right now if Steve didn't find me when he did."
