JJ's POV

"I'll be fine," I smiled. Another year passes. Steve and I thought it best to not celebrate. Instead, we agreed that I work with Five-O during the day and go back to my managing job at night at the restaurant. To our surprise, they were more than happy to have me back. Things went back to normal, like I had never left. I was getting ready to close out until I was told another customer has come in. I was with my servers at the back grill. "Guys, I know I said I would get you out of here on time but we can't leave until that customer does. Maria, that's your section he's sitting in."

"Fine with me," Maria nodded.

"Everyone else can stock, clean, help one another out," I stated. They disbursed. I sat at a table and Andrea came over to me. "Hey."

"How's you and your boo?" Andrea asked.

"We're still together," I nodded.

"You guys going to try and celebrate?" Andrea asked.

"Considering what happened last time?" I looked at her. "We're deciding against that."

"So, what have you guys done for like anniversaries?" Andrea asked.

"Well, for our eighteen month anniversary, I moved in with him," I replied. "My brother didn't take that too well, but, uhm, I think he learned that he can't stop me from growing up."

"JJ," Maria walks over to me. "The customer wants to speak with you. He says there's something in his water but I've switched it out three times."

"It's one of those customers," I sighed. "Okay. I'll be there in a second." Maria walked away. "But if you're interested in finding a guy that treats you like mine treats me, leave your four year boyfriend who cheats on you and then run back to you with gifts to say he's sorry. I've seen that happen a lot when I hired you." She looked me in the eye. "He's not worth your love or time if he keeps making the same mistake over and over." I got up and walked over to the table. "Steve."

"Are you the manager?" Steve smiled at me, in his dress blues. "Are you?"

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I believe there's something in my water," Steve held up his cup. "Yup, definitely something in there."

"Yeah, I see that," I replied. I grabbed a clean fork and fished it out of there. I dried it and looked at it. "Steve?"

"Yeah," Steve grabbed the ring from me and got down on one knee. "Jaynelle Jane Williams, you've been a light in my life since we've been together. I know you talk about a life to grow with God and your significant other. You look for a knight in shining armor, and you get this sailor. I maybe broken and it's gonna take time, but I do know I wear the armor of God. So, JJ, will you marry me?"

So, JJ, will you marry me?"

"Yes, Steve," I nodded. "I'll marry you." Steve put the ring on my finger and he got up and kissed me. "You do know Danny's gonna freak, right?" He looked at me. "Six months ago I moved in with you and now we're engaged."
