"Virgil are you sure?"

Virgil turned me around to face him and pushed my hair out of my face.

"Yes, Patton! You look really good. Now, whos supposed to be the anxious one here, me or you?"

I pulled the cuffs on the jacket over my hands

"I feel like an outdated dad"

Virgil chuckled

"Dad can be argued, outdated? Patton your in your 20's, you're too young to be outdated"

I swooned into the wall and threw my hand onto my forehead.

"What can I say, I'm an old soul!

"I long to see the day that I meet someone as dramatic as you"

I chuckled as Virgil shook his head and walked out of the bathroom. I turned around and looked in the mirror one last time. My freckles seemed so much more noticeable. I examined my new jacket, brushing it with my fingers. The silk was soft against my skin, A blue and white bomber jacket with a small light blue heart etched into the breast, dark blue Azalea's up to the side all expertly sewn in. The silk fabric looked nice against the light blue and white striped sweater. The final detail that built the outfit was the black jeans that clashed against the white Convers.

I brushed my hair out of my face and left the bathroom. When I entered the living room Virgil was waiting for me, with two bus passes and his keys.

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah"

Virgil and I left the house and when we got into our long hallway he turned around and locked the door behind us. We took the elevator down in silence and as we stepped out into the evening a cool breeze swept through. I turned to Virgil.

"Hey, if you don't want to go we don't have to. I want you to be comfortable"

"Patton, it's okay. I want to go!"

"Are you sure?"

Virgil pulled me into a hug

"Yeah, I'll be okay...Thank you for caring"

"Oh Virgil, you shouldn't have to thank me for basic human decency."

Virgil pulled back from the hug

"Patton, in a world where people can be so cruel, human decency is few and far between"

I looked over Virgil's shoulder and saw something speeding forward.

"Hey buddy, uh, not to ruin the moment but if we don't scramble we are going to miss our ride to the first party we have been too since high school"

Virgil turned around, took a quick glance and with wide eyes grabbed my hand and started darting to the train. I couldn't help but laugh the whole time he dragged me behind him. Virgil never was too great with focusing on only one thing, unless, of course, that one thing was his writing. We managed to somehow make it onto the train just barely in time to cram in.

Virgil sighed

"I always barely just make it to these damn trains, they move hella fast"

"Well..."

I chuckled

"I think the point is that they are supposed to make getting from point A to B really fast, they don't have time to wait for lollygaggers"

Virgil scoffed

"I'm not a lollygagger! Look at me! I can barely go out in public with my swim trunks and no shirt on! I'm not nearly brave enough to-"
