I continued reading my books with no care in the world. Constantine I'd look up to see if anyone was looking at me (probably because I was paranoid) and as luck would have it  the reserve course student had walked past me again. I accidentally dropped my book on the grass ,which made a noise when it hit the floor, in shock of seeing him there : he turned around to check the noise and saw me.

My face turned red as I mumbled "Hello."
He stopped walking and turned to me, "Hi."

We had stopped talking. the silence lasted for a while. I could see the nervousness on the boys face as he stood still. "So, what is that book about?" He asked me, avoiding eye contact and pointing his finger to the book.

"It's from a series of books, about a few friends : who go on cliche-meaningless adventures. This story in particular has their old friend, from earlier on in the book series, come back. But turns out he's only back because he had left something special at his old home." I explained.

I felt a smile swipe my face as I explained it. I often smiled a lot but people found it to be a bit creepy. The boy walked over to me and sat down next to me under the tree. What is he planning to pull?

"My name is Hajime Hinata, what's yours?" He asked with his head tilted to the side.
"I'm Nagito Komaeda. It's nice to meet you." I stuck my hand out for a handshake.

After introductions we talked under the tree for a while. We talked about how incredibly boring we both seemed to be and about my books. Hajime seemed to like reading too. The spiky haired boy preferred to read more manga and comic books- he said he did enjoy reading short novels when travelling for a long time and in other similar circumstances. I had read a few comics entirely but I had always preferred reading longer books with more writing. I wasn't that picky though. If it seemed readable/ interesting enough, I'd read it!

Hajime was a reserve student. He didn't think he was anything very special. However, he was adamant on becoming someone other than 'reserve-course Hajime'.
He had started to poke at the ground and asked me,
"So, Komeada. You have a talent, right?"
"Yes, I'm the Ultimate Lucky Student."
"Interesting."

We sat in silence until it was time to return to classes. We had made a promise to visit each other at the tree tomorrow with our favourite book and lend them to each other. What better way to bond than seeing what someone else likes most?

We parted ways with Hajime walking towards the reserve building, and me walking to my classroom. I was close to being late to class but I made it just in time (luck again I guess).

I walked in to hear screaming from two of my classmates. One being from Hiyoko, the Ultimate traditional dancer, and the other coming from Teruteru, the Ultimate Cook. Another student was lying on the floor, she seemed to be unconscious. That student was Ibuki, the Ultimate Musician.

Teruteru screamed "WHAT DID YOU PUT INTO MY COOKING?"
Hiyoko denied she had done anything and stormed off out of the classroom. Pushing me into the floor on her way out.

I landed on my back and it hurt for a few seconds but nothing major had happened. Chiaki ,the Ultimate Gamer, has helped me up from the floor and to my seat. Usually she would be playing her games but now she had been more focused on everyone in her classes. Or at least balancing the two in class-time.

After about 5 minutes Ibuki had woken up and was almost immediately back to her usual/ high energy self. People tried to calm her down but nothing worked. There was no taming the Ultimate Musician.

Dear diary,

Today I finally talked to that boy! His name is Hajime Hinata. Turns out, he likes reading like me! Tomorrow we will exchange our favourite books and read them to get a taste of each other's reading taste. I am so excited to find out what he likes to read!

I had a few other things happen in class but nothing very major that is worth reporting.

I will write again tomorrow if I'm not too busy reading Hajime's book!

-Nagito Komeada

I had looked up and saw Soda walking towards me, "Hey Nagito! Whatcha reading there?"
"I was just writing ideas for interesting ways to train dogs!" I lied.
"...ok?"

With that Kazuichi had walked off to talk to Miss Sonia, the Ultimate Princess. I stared up at the ceiling blocking out exactly when we had been told to work and listen by the teacher. I seemed to space out a lot if I had nothing I was interested in to focus on. Either that or my luck turns on me and I get hurt or something.

It felt like the class had barely started as he had been told to leave and return home. My house was close enough to walk to but it sometimes took a while. I had no money on me though so I had no choice but to walk through a field full of flowers to get home. It may sound nice to walk home through a place like this everyday but in reality, it was highly tedious. If it had rained the night before, the ground would be covered in mud and my shoes would become incredibly dirty. The plants would also soak my trousers if they had any water on the outside of them. On nice days it was nice to walk through, but on days like this not so much.

My house wasn't too far away at this point. Only a few blocks away from the exit of the field. My house was bought with my parents inheritance money which I had gotten after they both died. I'm an only child so being at home became lonely. I got two dogs about a year or so ago which kept me company when I needed something to talk to. Despite how friendly my dogs are - I still was only talking to an animal which couldn't understand me or talk back.

I never cared much but seeing how happy everyone is at school makes me miss the feeling of belonging. Having a clear purpose.

I guess I'll just have to talk to Hinata and my dogs for a bit longer.
