It had reached the time for me to meet my new friend at the tree and exchange our books to each other. I had selected a new book that was recently added to my growing collection. It was about a group of people who had been texting this one girl about setting up a large event. The girl had to choose who she wanted to date from all the boys and one girl. People I tell about this book find it boring but I can't agree. The characters are the best part about it! I like a character called 707's personally the best. His character development makes him so endearing and he is an essential part of the plot!
I walked around the corner to see the tree I had been sitting under for the majority of my time at this school. A figure of a man was sitting under it and a smile crept up my face and my cheeks had been tinted a light pink.
"Hello Nagito!" The figure greeted, waving him harm happily at the sight of me.
"Hi Hajime. I hope you are planning on lending me a good book!"
"Sure am."
"First, let me give you mine!"Hajime looked over the covers and smiled at me when he had finished "this seems like a book for teenage girls!" I was offended that he would say such a thing about "Messaged Madness"."Oh yeah! then give me your book then!" I replied in a careless voice.
The boy handed me a shorter novel titled "Clash! Magic and Mayhem' The paragraph on the back of it read 'Leiko , Katsu and Benji travel to a world just like an nerdy board game. Anything they say becomes true. Does this turn out well for our hero's? Or will they be trapped in a logic loop with a monster for the rest of their lives?"
Honestly, I wasn't too invested in the brief summary of the book. The premise seemed to be interesting enough though. But, if Hajime picked it out it HAS to be good!
"I've had this book since it was first being sold. I've always been into the series and the author has had a hand in making so many great things with other people! He had a hand in writing what you had with you yesterday! Yet, one of the characters is based off him!" Hajime explained enthusiastically,
"please, talks good care of it Nagito."I nodded in agreement and stuffed the book into my bag. Hajime did the same with my book and we lied under the tree together again. The hot temperatures where hardly bearable in the uniforms that we have to wear.
We had long talks about places in town which we want to go to. The discussion had driven to talking about a nearby karaoke place which we wanted to visit one day. It was only build recently but people had apparently already became regulars there. Both of us decided that we should go one day after school, preferably when the temperate had dropped a little bit. Drinking hot drinks in the scolding heat didn't sound too appealing.
It was time to go back to class now, said our goodbyes and walked our separate ways. I wonder what Hajime's classes are like. Nobody had talents in there so it is unlikely much really happens. Then again it IS full of teenagers who's parents where that well if they could afford to send their students to Hopes Peak.
Creak. I opened the door to my classroom, my head full of fear of the new shenanigans which I would be introduced to by my classmates. Perhaps Ibuki is holding a small concert or karaoke? Maybe Gundam enslaved everyone with his animals? I hope nothing dangerous happened to them, if so I hope Mikan can help anyone who gets injured.
I opened the door and saw...
Peace?
Is this my classroom?
I heard the ultimate musician yell from one side of the room,"Heeeeeey Nagito!!!"."Hello Ibuki. Why is everyone so quiet? " I asked with concern in my voice. "We where talking about what we saw earlier! You where with a booyyyyyyy!" Ibuki Yelled. I looked at her, and then the rest of the class. Everyone had their eyes on me, and me alone. I guess this is how popularity feels? I don't like it much to be honest...
Hiyoko stood up and poked my chest, " what were you doing with a reserve course nobody? Your an ultimate for fucks sake! You can't been seen with them losers!" She scolded me. "He's my.... friend?" Honestly, I have no clue what Hajime thinks we are. It's not as if I can read his mind. Maybe I should ask next time I see him. "We both like reading to an extent, we traded books today so we get to know each other better..."
Nobody looked convinced. Except Chiaki : she was playing a game ,without a care in the world. 'What's his name, dude? "Kazuichi asked me. "Hajime." "Well, is Hajime at all interesting? Seeing he got shoved into the reserve course, he can't be that important. Right?'
I felt offended for my new friend. He wasn't even here but I defended him anyway. "Hajime is interesting! He... he... he." I was struggling to find something exceptional to bring up besides reading. "Hajime treats me like a person. Unlike some of you in here." I shot a stare at Hiyoko and she looked away when she had noticed. Kazuichi added "well bro, do what you want with that reserve course guy. We'll try and stay out of your hair!" I smiled and walked to my desk. Not that long after, our teacher had entered the room and we started our lessons.
Wonder how Hajime's lessons treat him.
Why is he always in my head?
Guess he IS the first friend I've had something in common with for a while.
That's gotta be it!
