I ran through the hallways, trying door after door. Most were unlocked and didn't lead to anything I cared about.
One, however, was locked. And I could hear crying if I pressed my ear to the door.
"Loki?" I knocked.
"Go away."
"Loki, let me in." I messed with the door handle before pulling out two bobbypins and picking the lock.
I opened the door and walked inside to see Loki curled up on the bed. Tears ran down his face and he couldn't do anything to wipe them away.
I sighed and sat on the bed, running a hand through his hair. "Loki, it's okay..."
He sat up and stared at me. "I told the woman who raised me that she is not my mother. How is it-" he cut off as I kissed him.
"It's okay because you didn't mean it. I pretty much disowned my father after he wanted me to die, but I still love my mom. I still love my dad's sister. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I can't love the rest of my family."
He sniffed and struggled against the chains. "Percy, would you-"
I lifted my hands and wiped away his tears before gently holding his face in my hands.
"Loki, I'm not going to let them lock you up. Okay?"
"My dear, I think you overestimate your abilities."
I smirked and kissed him. When I pulled away, I rested my forehead on his.
"You have no idea what I can do. There's a reason I can take Nat's assignments."
The door opened, causing the two of us to turn and stare.
"Loki are you-oh am I interrupting something?" Frigga stood in the doorway.
I swallowed and glanced back at Loki.
He stared at the ground before slowly raising his gaze to look at Frigga. "Mother, she is my girlfriend."
A smile spread across Frigga's face and she sat next to Loki.
She touched the chains and they instantly fell away. "That is wonderful news. And...give me your hands my son."
Loki tilted his head but did as she asked.
A gentle glow appeared around their hands and Loki's clothes shifted to what appeared to be armor.
Loki looked down at his outfit. "Mother, you- why? Why would you do this for me? Why would you give me my magic back?"
"You are my son. And your magic is a part of you. Besides, if you are going to walk around Asgard, it is best for you to have an easy way to defend yourself. And it may be beneficial for you to give some basic combat training to Percy."
"I'll be fine. I'm an assassin and a spy and I can technically beat Loki in a fight."
"You did not beat me in a fight."
"Do you really think I was trying to hurt you?"
Frigga laughed. "Perhaps then you can train with Sif. I am going to convince my husband to allow you to explore freely. Excluding the treasury and dungeons of course."
She left.
A wide grin spread across Loki's face and his outfit rippled, turning into a more casual outfit. He waved his hand and my outfit changed into something like what Frigga was wearing.
"I have missed my powers greatly. What do you wish to do?" He rested a hand on my face. "Picnic? Read? Cuddle?"
"Picnic sounds nice." I said.
Loki nodded and stood up before taking my hand and dragging me through hallways.
We ended up outside, in a garden full of beautiful flowers.
"Loki, you do realize we don't have food right?"
He smiled but didn't say anything as we walked hand in hand. He stopped and mumbled something.
A picnic blanket and basket appeared in the shade of a large tree.
"Magic." His smile widened.
A mirroring smile appeared on my face and I pulled him over to the blanket.
I sat down and opened the picnic basket.
The two of us ate in comfortable silence, and after we were done I leaned against him. He wrapped an arm around me and kissed my head.
"Brother!" Thor's voice rang through the garden and Loki quickly put distance between the two of us.
"Hey Thor, thought you were staying with the others?" I asked as he walked up to us.
"Yes, but then when I saw no difference in our teammates I asked Heimdall to bring me here so I may tell Father."
I sighed. "Well, why are you here right now?"
"Brother, if you harm or try to turn Percy against us, you will wish you had died when you fell."
Loki swallowed and looked away. "I will not try to harm her, brother."
"And what good is your word? You lie and trick and manipulate people to suit your own needs."
I sighed. "Guys, I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this, but I can handle myself. Now if you excuse us, I kinda want to continue our nice relaxing picnic. So can you please let us do that?"
"Wishing to spend time with the trickster is concerning." Sif walked up. "I think she is already under his spell. Your mother foolishly thought to return his magic."
"She must of have had her reasons." Thor said.
"Oh my gods." I mumbled. "I am perfectly fine. And can you guys seriously just leave us alone? I like hanging out with Loki. He's fun. He reminds me of my two friends who I used to prank people with."
I sighed. Those were the days.
Sif glared at me. "Spar."
"What?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I want to fight you."
For no real reason
Anyway this is like the fifth chapter I've typed today....so it might not be the best
