"Why are we doing this?" Steve asked as he walked beside me and Tony. We in turn, walked behind Percy.
"Percy needs some new clothes, Nat told me to drag you two along." I shrugged and slowed down. Percy ducked into a store.
"Are we following her inside or what?" Tony asked.
I held up a hand, signaling for him to wait. Percy practically ran out of the store and continued on her search.
"What was that about?"
"She refuses to shop anywhere that cheerleaders work at."
"Why?" Steve questioned.
"Long story. And I mean long." I chuckled to myself, watching as Percy entered another store.
"So Legolas, how did she end up with you anyway?"
I looked over at Tony before sitting on a bench. He and Steve sat beside me.
"That's a longer story, one that Percy would kill me for telling you."
"Why?"
"She doesn't like people knowing about her past, you know who she is, what she's done. Basically she's Nat with black hair."
I didn't respond to any of their other questions, eyes scanning the people walking into the store.
When they settled on one person I pressed the com in my ear, staring at Percy.
"Percy, code-"
"I see her. I'm almost done here so do you mind talking to her or something? Preferably something."
"If you grab the dart."
"I can do that." I ducked my head and lifted my arm. I leveled it so I could fire my watch, which houses small Celestial Bronze bolts.
I don't like using it unless Percy can grab the dart, because she goes through a lot of trouble to get the godly metal without getting caught.
The dart lodged itself in the monster which quickly dissolved into dust.
Percy dropped her change and bent down to scoop it up, grabbing the dart too.
Then she rushed out, her arms loaded with bags.
"What just happened?" Steve looked between us.
"I was timing her."
"And I found a bunch of stuff on clearance." Percy grinned. "Now how about we head home?"
"How about we get food instead kid?"
I winced as he said that, Percy hates being called a kid. Especially since she's in her twenties and she's you know been through hell.
"That sounds pretty good. Come on, I know a pretty good restaurant."
I was surprised when she said that. I was even more surprised when Percy started joking with Steve.
Our meal was uneventful, with no attacks mythical or mortal. So we ended up heading back to the tower.
Percy
"Don't like elevators?" Steve asked as it started to move.
"Yeah...I've had pretty bad experiences with elevators." The ride up the St Louis Arch, the ride down to the Underworld, the ride up to Olympus, the ride out of Tartarus. All of those kinda left a stain on my enjoyment of elevators
Although the Olympian elevator is basically because of Apollo's horrible taste in elevator music.
"What did somebody try to kill you in one?" Tony rolled his eyes.
"No, but two of my friends sacrificed themselves to get me onto that elevator." I mumbled, walking out of the elevator the moment the doors opened.
I walked into my room, which Tony had gotten set up a while ago I just like sleeping with Clint or Nat.
I started putting my new clothes away, along with the other things I had gotten throughout the day.
Including but not limited to a Pillow Pet, bubbles, and glass cylinder vases which I'm going to fill with water and whatever I feel like putting in them.
"Who do you like?"
I looked over at Nat. "Uh what?"
She walked over with a small smile on her face. "You never wear stuff like that."
"I needed some more clothes Nat, and in case you haven't noticed this is all they seem to sell anymore."
"Sure...now who is it?"
"Nobody, besides I know the rule. I can't date anyone until Nick vets them, Clint stalks them, and you threaten them."
She sighed. "Okay. Good. But remember, if you do end up dating someone and you don't tell us...I reserve the right to kill them."
"I know I know. Now can you let me finish putting this crap away? I want to go train or beat up Clint or something other than this."
Instead of leaving, she pulled me into a hug and pressed a kiss to my head. "I'll leave you alone...and now you can stop stealing my clothes."
"That's not going to happen. Do you have my gun? I couldn't find it before I left."
"Yeah, Fitz wanted to work on our guns. Something about adding Icers." She released me before walking out of my room.
I'm not happy about her giving my gun to Fitz without asking, but I trust him.
And I trust Simmons to keep him from doing something too outrageous.
Plus having Icers will be nice, I won't have to risk killing people unless I need to actually kill them.
I can do that with my powers anyway. But Icers are fun too.
I finished putting my stuff away before changing into a crop top and shorts. I wasn't lying when I said I wanted to train.
I grabbed a hair tie and pulled my hair up into a high ponytail.
Maybe if I'm lucky, Clint will be down there and I can beat him up. He really should have fought more when Nat forced him to bring along Tony and Steve.
