A small, slim tortoiseshell she-cat padded over to a gray, short-haired, cat, who was gazing out into the moonlight. The gray cat had a torn ear, and one of her eyes looked like it had been gouged out, with claw marks all over that side of her face. "What is it Dappledpelt?" She asked without turning her head. "Tonight will bring a newcomer to the forest. Wether it will bring danger or good-fortune to the clans, Starclan has not chosen to tell me." The slim, medicine cat meowed. Both she-cats looked up sharply as a shooting star flashed over the sky. The young medicine cat scrambled up, paws scraping on the rock, still looking at the sky."Thornstar! That was a message from Starclan! The newcomer has just entered the forest and will be bringing a huge impact to our clan!" "How much time do we have?!" Growled Thornstar, jumping up onto all four paws. "I-I don't know" groaned Dappledpelt, crouching low to the ground, with a grimace on her face. Both cats whirled around, and lept into a fighting stance, when they heard a branch snap in the bushes. A brown and yellow tabby peered out from the bushes. "H-Hello? Anyone there?" he stammered. "Who are you, and how did you get here?" Growled Thornstar. "You don't belong here, and you don't smell like any of the other three clans in the forest." "I don't know what you're talking about, but my name is Jasper." Said the tabby, shrinking into the bushes. "Thornstar! He's the one!" Whispered Dappledpelt. "How?" argued Thornstar. "I would know that smell anywhere. He's a kittypet." she spat. "Don't you trust your medicine-cat?" questioned Dappledpelt, raising her voice. "Of course I do, It's just hard to believe that a KITTYPET is going to change the future of our clan." Hissed Thornstar. "I-If you don't mind I'll just be leaving now..." Muttered Jasper, turning back into the bushes. "Get back here kittypet!" Growled Thornstar. "Umm. Yes?" Jasper whispered. "Would you be willing to join our clan and be trained to become a warrior?" Asked Thornstar. "Really?" Purred Jasper. "You really mean it?" "Yes" said Dappledpelt. "I really don't know what to say-" "Yes or no!" Burst out Thornstar. "Sorry! Umm-I mean-Yes! I would be honored." Yelped Jasper. "Just one more thing." remarked Thornstar. "We need to do something about your name." "Hmmm. How about, Oakstripe?" Dappledpelt. "Yes. That will do." Thornstar answered. "Oakstripe, welcome to Forestclan."
