Foxkit looked around at the clan. All of the cats were looking at her with newly found respect, and awe. "This...this can't be happening right now" she stuttered. "Oh this is happening alright." Shouted Hawkkit, excitedly. "I have the strongest cat in the clan as my sister!" Jadestripe sent him a stern glare that quieted him immediately. "Jadestripe, Shadepool, I would like to see you in my den immediately please. Everyone else, go to your dens, or on a hunting or border patrol." meowed Thornstar, quietly breaking the silence that hovered over the clearing. As Jadestripe and Shadepool walked away, Foxkit went into the nursery, and curled up, underneath a makeshift cave of moss. Hawkkit bounded over to Foxkit, and started rambling on about the fight. Foxkit pressed herself deeper into the moss. "Just be quiet Hawkkit!" she shouted, half crying. "Hawkkit!" called Appleflight, as Honeywing padded over to comfort Foxkit. "Come over here and play with the other kits, and quit bothering Foxkit!" As Hawkkit trotted over to the other kits, Honeywingt lay down next to Foxkit, and nosed the moss aside. When Jadestripe returned, she found Honeywing curled up next to Foxkit, whispering comforting things into Foxkit's ears. "Oh my sweet little kit!" she murmured, rushing over to take Honeywing's place. "Mom?" whimpered Foxkit, bursting into tears. "A-am I in t-trouble?" "No no my little kit." whispered Jadestripe. "You are definitely not in trouble. In fact, you ar-" "Foxkit, Thornstar would like to see you now." interrupted a kind but firm meow. "Y-yes Shadepool." Foxkit replied. "I-I'm coming" she said, pulling herself together. "That's my brave kit." praised Jadestripe.

As Foxkit followed Shadepool to the Leader's den, underneath high ledge, she felt the eyes of the clan cats, peering at her through every den. When they finally reached the curtain of vines, covering the entrance of the den, Shadepool yowled to Thornstar. "I have the kit. Would like us to enter?" "Stay outside with her, and I will see you both in a moment. I am talking to Dappledpelt right now." Thornstar meowed. As they waited, Foxkit could hear Thornstar talking to the medicine cat, in hushed whispers. Foxkit strained her ears, to try and hear what they were saying "Foxkit...battle...Starclan...father...fate... Forestclan...apprentice...," though she only heard bits and pieces of the conversation, and even those where difficult to understand. When Foxkit and Shadepool were finally let in, Foxkit saw Thornstar on her moss bed, with piles of moss all around her den. "Sit down and take a piece of prey." said Thornstar in a warm voice. As Foxkit did what Thornstar asked, Thornstar began to talk. "So. I talked to your mother, Shadepool, and Dappledpelt about what happened today." "Y-you mean the battle we had today?" Foxkit asked. "Yes. That is exactly what we were talking about." "I-I'm sorry-" "No need to apologize, Foxkit." broke in Dappledpelt. "In fact, we have a proposition to ask you." "What is it?" asked Foxkit. Thornstar got up and padded over to sit in front of Foxkit. "We would like to know if you would like to become an apprentice." "But. I'm only 3 moons old. You have to be 6 moons old to become an apprentice." Thornstar then went on. "We understand you are a bit young, but you have already proven to be the strongest cat in the clan, and you are still only a kit. With the proper training, you could become the strongest cat in the forest. Your mother has already agreed, as long as you feel as if you are ready." "I-I agree. I mean, ok. I will become an apprentice." "Good" meowed Thornstar, relaxing. "I will announce this later tonight."

In the corner between the nursery and the wall of the camp, there is a small hole that's invisible to the eye, unless you knew exactly what you were looking for. Later that day, when the sun was just about to sink over the top of the trees, that was where Foxkit was hiding and watching all the cats grab prey from the prey pile, from her hiding place. She felt lonely, and different from everyone else in the camp. She didn't want to go out in the open and get a piece of prey, for fear of the rest of the clan staring at her. Foxkit's stomach was growling, and she was debating on grabbing a piece of prey or staying there, when she heard a stick crack behind her. She whirled around, and jumped up, into a fighting position. She couldn't see the cat, but she could smell it. The scent of Caveclan.
