Dec POV

My wife is still sleeping, but I sneak out of bed without a sound. I need some distance.

I sit down on the sofa and look at the picture on the coffee table, a picture of our wedding day. Ali is beautiful. She has dark brown eyes I can drown in and she's got dimples I always poke for fun when she's laughing. She's got long shiny hair, she has soft hands that are always caressing mine and she's constantly showering everyone with kindness. Everything she says seems genuine, and everything she does feels so familiar.

Still, something isn't quite right.

It seems like she's perfect, it seems like she's my true love. But she's not you.

I miss your warmth, I miss your scent on my pillow, I miss the light flickering in your eyes when you lay eyes on me.

I miss you.

Do you miss me too?

I put down the picture I have in my hands. I hadn't even realise that I took it in the first place. It's a picture with my best friend, my everything.

Ant.

"I still love you" I say, but I don't get an answer.
