"Did you see Kevin?" Alex whispered to Ryan who focused the attention on the book he was referring, regarding the ongoing music research. Surprised by the question Ryan turned to his friend but came out of the Robinson library to talk to him.

"Why? Isn't he at the practice room?"

"No! I was there for more than an hour but he didn't show up. Only his guitar was there."

"That's strange. We'll try calling him."

"No use mate. The phone is switched off."

"What? He never does that. Come, we walk around to look for him. He should be in the college otherwise the guitar can't be here."

The two searched every possible place they could think of from their hanging around spots. But didn't have any luck. When they were walking back empty-handed Alex suddenly started to shout pointing to an isolated bench under the shade of a Birch tree in a corner.

"Isn't that him? What the hell is he doing there?"

Kevin who was immersed in the computer didn't notice the slowly approaching two.

"The world of visually impaired people" Alex readout loud making Kevin jump up startled.

"What are you doing? Are you reading that article?" Ryan asked with a look of astonishment.

"What are you up to man? I can smell something fishy!" Alex told pretending to sense around the bench.

"It's nothing. Don't make a fuss Alex. I'm just curious that's all." Kevin told trying to be calm.

"I too feel this is strange." Ryan also joined Alex still puzzled with Kevin's behavior who concentrated only on music before. As long as he remembered this was the first time he saw Kevin searched something different than a topic related to music or a song.

"It's not a big deal mate. Don't let her know."

"Her..?"

"Amaya.." answering to Ryan Kevin collected his stuff to join the daily music exercises.

After Kevin started to spend time with Amaya during practice sessions he observed how well she was able to listen to new melodies memorize and play them. He spent his time observing her busy fingers effortlessly moving on the strings of the violin. He was fascinated by watching her long thin fingers diligently roaming through the pages of music notes reading them. The use of her white cane when walking and even without it her accurate movements in the familiar music room amazed him. In the mornings he waited for her to arrive and walk along with her in a distance just to see how cutely she used the cane to move around without anyone's help.

He tried to walk around his bedroom with closed eyes for few times but ended up crashing himself somewhere every instance. It resulted in numerous bruises on his shins and a few in his head too. Although the trial of walking with shut eyes went that way he didn't want to stop trying until his mother scolded when he broke a lampshade a couple of days ago.

But his curiosity didn't die, so he started to browse through the web and read. He even started to learn about Braille, the reading language for the visually impaired. Then only he found out they have a separate Braille for music too. It was like opening a door to an unknown place for him. Kevin was extremely interested in it, he neglected the normal daily routine followed for a few years and outstretched his attention to this new world.

However, he tried to be indifferent in front of Amaya. He wanted to hide his new interest especially from her, sometimes it made him acting rudely towards the girl. And he always tried to keep his distance from Amaya even though his heart drawing towards her day by day.

"What's wrong with you these days Kevin?" One morning Krystal stormed into the practice room three, shouting. Kevin was sitting near the small table at the window staring at his tablet. Without waiting for a response she rushed to the table, rummaged through the pile of papers neatly placed in front of him and searched the browsing history of his tablet ignoring his objection.

"What's the meaning of this? Are you planning to go blind in the future? Why are you trying to learn Braille? I think you are going crazy!"

"It's none of your business!" Kevin shouted annoyed by her behavior.

"It's my business. Aunty Mishil has given me every right to keep track of you. I don't like your new interest in that blind girl. What's so great about her to draw your attention when no other girl could until now?"

"Krystal, we are not engaged or married! Don't try to poke fingers into my life using my mother as an excuse or our friendship will come to an end in this instance. Please leave me alone!" Kevin hissed in uncontrollable anger and kicked the chair. It slid on the floor and fell with a loud thud near Krystal. His hands were curled into a fist either side of him and the clenched jaw and the gritting of teeth showed how hard he tried to control the rage.

That was the first time she saw Kevin being that furious. She didn't have the courage to continue the argument when looking at his fuming eyes. So Krystal left the room without any other word, hitting down the stacked documents while passing, giving him one last threatening look with fiery eyes.

Kevin tried hard to calm down. 'What's with that girl. Why does she bother hanging around me? What a nuisance!'  He thought while collecting the papers scattered all over the floor in boiling anger still didn't fade away.

"come on Kevin, it's time to go." Alex called but Kevin didn't pay attention at all. His fingers were running on the piano keys quite hard making noisy music.

"We need to be in room twenty-two now." Alex grabbed his shoulder and dragged Kevin with him. In an irritated mind, he walked away for the music practices.

"Is something wrong mate?" Ryan asked observing his darkened face. But the answer was only a nod to indicate that there was no problem.

At the moment they entered the room Amaya welcomed them with a sweet smile.

"Come on in everyone, we were waiting for you!" She greeted them.

As soon as Kevin's eyes captured Amaya's light-up face with the broad smile his anger vanished like dewdrops under the hot sun. His mind became peaceful in a fraction of a second. To his surprise, he found him smiling back and his shaken up mind was relaxing. He realized his heart has the desire to listen to her lovely soul.

'Did she recognize our footsteps a while ago? How amazing! I should try to study other's footsteps with closed eyes and try to recognize them separately next week.' He thought, admiring the girl who was playing the violin without sensing the surrounding at all.
