The blonde ex archer let out a small sigh of despair as she let the darkness engulf her. Lifting up her head she saw the little beam of light, but the more she searched for its source the further away it became, it had almost vanished. "Wally?" The young woman called out, her voice breaking as she choked on the name of the boy she loved and cared for. "Wally, please." Artemis squeezed her eyes shut, as she pulled off her orange and black mask that she despised so much. "I know you're there, I know you can hear me..." She pleaded into the wind that carried her words away. "They told me. No, they promised me you would return by now, that I'd be back in your arms." Her gazed dropped to the dead brown grass that was crushed under her feet, looking away from the practically non existing light. Her long hair brushed against her arm as she let out another deep breath, she let out her emotions that she no longer dared to reveal to anyone else but the wind. "I need you, I can't handle it. We made a pact, Wally, it was you and me against the world. You promised you had my back. So where are you now?" She said, picking up her head as she screamed into the distance. "You said you would always be there!"

Artemis dropped to the ground cradling her legs, her head resting on he knees as she allowed her tears to silently stream down her face. "Where are you now?" She whispered but it came out closer to a mumble.

Inside there was a glint of hope something would happen, a sign, a message, anything. Waiting for hours on end for an unrealistic fantasy. But only the silence greeted her, as the dark gloomy sky cowered over her head. Hope was simply drained from her body, Wally was never coming back. She needed to face that sooner or later. But for the current time, she allowed the cruel, sharp fingers of grief take her in its clutches and allowed it to become a barrier between her and reality.
