Tris POV

Four and I headed out an hour and a half later. Being that it was Candor or Dauntless but also a party, I wore a sleeveless black chiffon dress, short sliders underneath, a cardigan, and a scarf (nobody said it didn't count) and high heels with mini spikes along the straps. Four wore his usual black tshirt, jeans, but he also wore a hoodie. Made him look like an actual teenager for once. I had passed on the message to the initiates to come dressed for truth or dare and a party.

As we walked in, my jaw dropped. Christina went all out with the decorations today. She had turned her countertop into a minibar and she had a DJ playing music in the corner. There were streamers everywhere and mikes set up for karaoke later.

We just talked about work and the initiates until Zeke and Uriah arrived with paintball guns. By now, my reflexes had improved enough that I was able to hit the dirt so Thati didn't get paintball all over me. As I got up and brushed myself off, I ran over to Uriah who was currently being beaten up by an enraged Christina for ruining her outfit.

As I dragged Christina off of him, the initiates walked in, and stopped short when they saw the scene unfolding, it must have looked odd after all. I yanked Christina off of Uriah, helped him up, slugged him in the shoulder, and sent Christina to change. I stated laughing and told the initiates, "Get used to it, if you wanna be Dauntless" . They snapped out of their trance, and started mingling with other guests.

All of the girls were wearing black dresses, but each reflected their own personality. Ananya was wearing an open-back skater dress with a jeweled belt at the waist, Brianne was wearing a sleeveless dress with designs on the bodice, Brittany was wearing a strapless tight jeweled dress, and Caylee was wearing a formfitting maxi dress. Austin was wearing a tshirt and black jeans, like the other guys. All of them had embraced the Dauntless look, while adding their own style. Ally and Annalise had made friends with each other, and were looking at Four with undisguised longing in their eyes. I had hoped that Annalise would be a bit kinder, but seeing as how she transferred from Amity to Dauntless, she obviously wasn't as kind as she should have been. I had hoped a year would go by without anyone hitting on Four.

Christina stood up on a chair and announced, "Welcome Dauntless, and initiates. Tonight, we're gonna have some fun! We have a karaoke machine up her for anyone who's brave enough to sing in front of everyone. That will start in 20 minutes. So meanwhile, meet up, and have some fun. And after, if you have an invitation, we will be playing Candor or Dauntless, so I hope you're prepared."

I decided now was a good time to get to know the Dauntless-born initiates, so I went around and started talking to them. Their names were:

I did notice Ryker looking at Brianne, interested, and honestly, he'd be a good match for her. While Ryker is very brave and truly Dauntless, he's also a great guy once you get to know him. And very sweet. He's one of those "chivalry is not dead" kinda guys. The Dauntless- born were very respectful towards me, because my reputation at Dauntless is only beat by Four's.
