"Shit," (Y/n) said. Said person was holding Dazai by the waist, watching him bleed out as the paramedics assumedly came. "Dazai-san..."
"It's okay, (L/n)," Dazai said. "Just get to Yosano. We're in for a ton of trouble."
Crimson flecked his lips. He swallowed and attempted to wipe his lips clean. It didn't work. Fire flickered in his eyes, a clean amber fuse consuming the ash.
"Move aside!" A voice called, and the paramedics pushed (Y/n) aside. The person tumbled onto the floor as strings of commands started to clutter the air. Dazai knowingly shot a glance at (Y/n). Go find Yosano. I'll be fine. (Y/n) tsked.
I was dumb to not realize Mori..!
"Yosano?" (Y/n) called, noticing an alarming crowd gathering around the plume of smoke. The air was noxious with the fumes, tendrils weaving in and out, the main culprit belching dark clouds into the cloudless sky. The car was on fire. Mori was consoling a police officer.
Shit...shit! (Y/n) knew exactly what was going to unfold next, and they were submerged in the crowd. Nobody budged, instead opting to film the fire with their phones.
"Mori-san!" The individual managed to yell as loud as they could. "Run!"
"Mister, are you sure you're fine?" The police officer asked, mouth pressed in a frown. Underneath the cap, a few strands of black tumbled out.
"I am sure," the Port Mafia leader smiled. "Elise-Chan here simply dropped orange juice into the gasoline input area."
"Rintaro!" The girl whined, giving the boss a sharp tug on his sleeve. He barely cringed, but gave the policeman a closed eyed smile.
"That isn't good at all," the police officer whispered. Glowing magenta eyes locked onto (Y/n)'s. (Y/n) could only stand in pure fear as Fyodor Dostoevsky deftly swiped the switchblade from his pockets, flipped the weapon expertly in his pale fingers, and drove the blade into the Port Mafia's top boss.

"The President is stabbed, too," (Y/n) finished Ranpo's next statement over the phone. "It's a virus ability user. You're going to have to duke this one out, detective."
"I was just getting started on my sweet snacks," Ranpo cried, but his voice hardened in the next statement. "Dazai-San is recovering in the hospital. I will have to—ah, just meet me soon."
(Y/n) had always wondered in the manga of Bungou Stray Dogs on why Yosano couldn't heal Dazai instantly—Dazai opted for the hospital instead. They did suppose that the future events lined up conveniently at his location.
While (Y/n) was pondering in the alleyway, Ranpo's call still not hung up, they didn't notice the dark shadow whisking towards them.
In a swift three second move, a hard object plowed into the back of their head, spraying crimson across the walls. (Y/n) let out a strangled choke, hand instantly weakening around the phone. Ranpo's cries were but a mere bird chirp in the midst of a maelstrom. Soon enough, their vision faded to black, and the ringing in their ears grew large enough to envelop any existing semblance of rational thought.
And then...darkness again. A thud of a heartbeat. It was weak. Something felt sticky.
I messed up, (Y/n) dryly thought as they spiraled into unconsciousness.
