T/W: HOMOPHOBIA, F-SLUR, SELF HATE, BULLYING, PAST SCARS
Roman approached his house and unlocked the door, entering and taking his shoes off before running upstairs. Unfortunately for him, a certain pain in his ass stood blocking the way.
"Why you were gone for so long?" His brother asked while leaning against the stairs railing.
"None of your business Remus." Roman replied as he pushed past him. Remus just chuckled before retreating back into his room, and Roman entered his. Once changed, he took out the small leather book and sat at his desk. There were only twelve stickynotes poking out of the top, so he started at the beginning.

The ending was... God did he feel terrible.
There wasn't much in the book to help, what Roman could only assume was Virgil's soulmates name was scribbled out quite violently. All he could make out was an 'R'. However the teenager was desperate to figure out what that strange writing in the last chapter was.
What it says, I have absolutely no clue. I can't even tell what language it is, maybe Latin? I know Virgil's family knows the language so it wouldn't be too suprising, but other than Latin I don't know any other languages it could be. Possibly G-
"Roman, Remus, I'm home! Come help me with the groceries please!" His thoughts were interrupted by a shout from downstairs.
"Coming madre!" He call out, placing the notebook in his desk drawers before heading downstairs to the kitchen where his mother Maria was. She gave him a warm smile, which he returned before helping to unload the groceries.
"So~ it's your 18th birthday soon, any plans with your girlfriend? Though I don't exactly like her that much, your soulmate was way nicer, what happened to them?" She asked. Roman almost dropped the watermelon he was unloading on my foot.
"Uh madre, I haven't met my soulmate yet." He told her, she looked at him confused before continuing.
"No... you met your soulmate when you were like eight. I should know, your father was not happy about it being a boy. I'm pretty sure he moved a month before we did." She said non-chalantly.
Roman tried to process what my mother just told me.
I know my girlfriend isn't my soulmate, but my soulmate is a boy!? That can't be right, I'm straight. 100% straight.
He just nodded slowly, the rest of my brain too caught up in processing this news to do anything else.
Roman was quiet for the rest of the day.

Patton made his way downstairs the next day, his duck slippers quacking with every step he took as the smell of pancakes filled the air and he sat down on a stool. His mum singing along to the stereo as she placed a stack of pancakes on a plate for him."Morning sweetie"
"Good morning mother..."
"Patton, are you ready to talk? About yesterday." She asked. Her voice was sickenly sweet as she stared at Patton with a blank expression. He knew what she was talking about.
"They're my friends, I was holding on to them for him..." Patton replied
Lying's a sin
"I thought I told you not to hang out with, what was his name, Virgil? He's corrupting you."
