Heightened Morale

A dark abyss, all around. It's glow encased Eiyu as he desperately searches for something unknown. As he turns around, the golden spear flies into his chest again. The transparent, sanguine Sakura gently fall to what seems to be the ground. A disembodied, female voice slowly speaks in a chilling atmosphere:

"Closer".

Eiyu slowly awakens and tries to bring his hands to his face. He looks at the stump where his arm once was and lets out a deep breath as the intercom comes on.

"Daimyo, sir. Your assistance is requested in the launch bay."

"I'll be there shortly."

He puts on his dress blues and heads for the launch bay. Upon arrival he is met by the pilot who was re-calculating the transport's Navigation system and linking it to the one in his helm.

"Ah, sir, we've made a lot of repairs already in the past few days but we're  having difficulty with the engine's fuel line."

"Yeah, the computer was ripped out."

"Gee, you don't say. Engineering can fix it but we need to run a scavenging op for parts."

"Why? Most parts are still in tact."

"The techs will show you why, they're down the left hall, second door on the right."

Eiyu heads to the engineering team. Through the door, he notices some armor parts and the terminal, all in pieces. The team (two people) greet him elatedly.

"Sir, we've been expecting you. Gai probably talked a minute, huh?"

"No, he was setting up Nav-link. Said you needed me."

"Yessir, we've been Working with the medical team on something we think you'll enjoy, using armor bits and terminal guts."

"Medical team?"

"Yes, c'mon, just down the hall."

The three head to the medical bay down the hall. It's bright silver walls lit up from the large lights were nearly blinding. It's a large area, as it should be. The medical team greets the three just inside the door, their suits are off-puttingly clean.

"Daimyo, been waiting for you."

"You forgot to make an appointment."

"Haha, levity is good. Come, we'll show you what we've been working on."

They enter a smaller, darker room with desks and large monitors. The doc points to one that seems to show a robotic limb and blueprints.

"It's a prosthetic. For the arm, od course. A permanent one that runs from a nuclear engine we'll install."

"A permanent prosthetic? From armor and a terminal?"

"And other salvage. It will require surgery and calibration, but we're ready when you are. We are also thinking of some experimental stuff too."

"Like what?"

"Cybernetics, help you out a bit more."

Eiyu puts on the surgery gown and lies on the table. The anesthetic works quickly once injected. The rest of his arm and into his shoulder is amputated then the prosthetic is biomelded to his bone. A strong, large polymer disk is added to assist the synthetic skin form correctly.
The cybernetic implants are inserted into his spine, brain, femurs and eyes.

A few hours pass and he awakens. Docs are standing beside him as he slowly comes to. He stretches his arms outward and notes the prosthetic is a little slow. It's metallic red reflects the light as he tries moving it.

"It needs calibration, let yourself wake up and the techs will help you with that. Does it feel any different?"

"It doesn't 'feel' at all." He says as he slowly sits up.

"Right. Go see the techs, Should get it calibrated as soon as possible."

"Thanks doc."

Eiyu re-dons his blues, carrying the Blazer so the engineers can work with the prosthetic. Upon entering the room he's directed to a chair with an arm rest, almost like a blood pressure machine. He takes a seat and go the arm place as the engineer opens a port and connects it to the arm. After a few diagnostics, the prothestic starts to life.

"Arm's good." The engineer says.
"On to the rest."

The arm is disconnected and he shows Eiyu a small holo-card, it's frame is silver and the screen is transparent blue.

"Look here, please."

After a short bar fills, the words 'vis-link connected' show up on the card and computer.

Diagnostics run on the spine first, activating the load bearing system. Then on the femurs, activating the impact dampeners. Then the eyes, activating the HUD and VISR 'friend n foe' targeting system. Then the brain to link Everything together.

The engineer now has a green outline and his mil-spec credentials show up near his head.

"And done. Not so bad, right?"

"Right... Thank you. What's with the green and words?"

"VISR Heads-Up Display has friend and foe targeting. Friends show green and foes show red. If they have their mil-spec card, that'll show too."

"Huh. Neat. Thanks again."

"Not a problem, any issues, report back here."

"Will do."
