Ashton helped me back to my room in completely silence- and I didn't dare say anything.I couldn't tell if he was mad or not- and I wasn't going to find out myself.
We walked into my room, Ashton holding majority of my weight, immediately seeing Luke, sitting on his phone.
Ashton helped me sit in the bed, crouching and looking up to meet my eyes.
"Are you in any pain?"
"I'm okay" I lied.
"You might be okay- but that's not what I asked, are you in any pain" he repeated the question, the smallest smile coming onto his face in the process.
"It's not that bad" I spoke.
"Rate it on a scale from 1-10, ten being the worst pain you've ever experienced" he spoke, making me go silent, thinking for a second.
"Like a solid five" I spoke quietly.
"That morphine is probably almost all the way out of her system" Luke chimed in, making Ashton nod in agreement.
"I don't want her on anymore morphine though" he spoke as Calum entered, watching Ashton move to the medicine cabinet.
"Have you checked the spot?" Calum asked, picking up what I assumed was my chart, glancing to it.
"Not yet" Ashton spoke, never looking towards us.
"I'll do it" he spoke simply, moving to the other side of my bed.
He carefully lifted the shirt that I had recently put on without permission.
I felt him gently pull the bandage off before I heard all silence.
"Ashton" Calum's voice barely spoke.
"Whats wrong" I quickly spoke.
"Relax Aaliyah" Luke's voice chimed in as I felt his hand hit my shoulder gently.
I watched Ashton walk behind me, hearing no talking.
"Aaliyah, lay on your tummy for us" Ashton spoke, making me immediately move to do so.
I let my face look to them, grabbing Luke's hand in the process, immediately earning his thumbs running over my knuckles as a move of support.
"Should it have formed a scab that easily?" I heard Calum ask.
"Nope" Ashton shot back.
"Let's talk, Aaliyah" Ashton spoke, and I felt the bandage get pushed back over the spot before I rolled onto my side, looking to the three of them.
"You've developed an infection at a crazy fast pace, but you've also developed a scab, which is like two completely opposite things, scabs form as a method of healing to keep infection out, but you already have an infection so it's a little confusing." He spoke.
"So we have some things we have to do, and some things you'll have a choice in doing" he spoke.
I nodded slowly
"Either way you're going to have to get an IV so we can give you quick antibiotics, because there's no way in hell you should be able to develop an infection this fast, meaning your immune system must be lagging a little- but that's an easy fix" he spoke, making me want to immediately throw myself against a wall.
"But, you have a choice in taking the scab off or not. If we get it off, we'll be able to heal it easier and faster, but if not you'll end up admitted as a patient for maybe two extra days and longer antibiotics" he spoke.
"It'll hurt?" I asked quietly.
"Normally it wouldn't be too bad of a pain, but you are extremely sensitive in that area- especially that one spot, so we'll give you a simple numbing shot and get it off as quickly as we can without hurting you" Calum chimed in.
"What would you do?" I asked, honestly not knowing what to do.
"From a Doctors perspective, especially considering you hate IV's, I would get the scab removed"
"Well I guess that's what I'll do"
