Chapter 15

After arriving at my house, I went up the elevator and knocked on the door. My dad opened it.

B: hey buddy.....how was school?....he asked me as I plopped on the couch throwing my bag on the floor.

I was still in the trance of Dayton kissing me that I didn't hear my dad speak.

B: Henry? Henry?.....my dad waves his hands in front of my eyes.

B: earth to Henry....he says snapping his fingers bringing me back to reality.

H: huh...uhhhh....uhmmm....i try to speak but no words come out of my mouth.

B: what's on your mind Buddy?...he asks chuckling. 

I think he knows something was up with me.

H: uhhh nothing dad...I say getting up from the couch.

B: who is she?.....he asks casually.

I froze in the spot and looked at him blushing. My dad just stands there chuckling to himself.

H: pffffff....whaaaatttt.....nothingggggg......I say trying to avoid his question.

B: who is she Henry?........he gives me that look.

H: *sigh* okay...I say defeated.

H: it was....uhmmm....D....Dayton..... I reply.

B: Dayton?!....my dad asks raising his eyebrows. 

I blushed.

H: she kissed me today.... I say with excitement laced in my voice.

My dad's face was expressionless but then it turned into a wide grin.

B: way to go Hen....he says patting my back.

H: thanks dad.... I say blushing again. 

I am sure my face looks red like a tomato.

I take my bag and head to my room. I sit on my bed and start doing my homework. After a while, my mom called me for dinner.

K: oh hey Henry, come on, dinner's ready.....she says ushering me to the table.

My dad and Frankie were already at the table. I sat down and started to eat my food.

B: so, Henry, when are we going to meet your girlfriend?......he asks with a smirk.

I look at him shocked and answer " she is not my girlfriend dad".

K: what girlfriend?....my mom asks narrowing her eyes.

H: no.....

B: the one that kissed him today......my dad spoke up before I could.

F: who?....my sister asks in a serious yet curious tone.

H: Dayton..... I say in a small voice.

K: ahhhhh........my mom shrieked clapping her hands.

K: I knew it...I knew it.....

F: Dayton as in my boyfriend's sister Dayton?.....she enquires in a threatening tone.

H: yes.... I say looking down. 

I didn't have the guts to look at her face because I know she wants to strangle me right now.

K: isn't this just wonderful?.....my mom chimes in excited.

F: yeah.....wonderful......she answers sarcastically.

B: Frankie, you should be happy for your brother....he says giving her the look.

F: sure dad.... I am happy for him.....she says with gritted teeth.

We finished our dinner and went back to our rooms. I continued working on my assignment for next week when Frankie burst opens my bedroom door. I was half scared to death and my books fell from my hands.

H: oh hi Frankie..... I greet her with a smile and collecting my books from the floor.

She grabbed me by my shirt and lifted me a little.

F: don't act smart you dweeb.

H: wh...what did I d..do?..... I ask her.

F: YOU STAY AWAY FROM HER OR ELSE......she screams in a threatening tone and pushes me on the floor. She then slammed the door in my face and left. My parents were still cleaning up downstairs, so they didn't hear Frankie screaming at me.

I sat on my bed and cried for the millionth time. Why does she hate me so much? I didn't even do anything. It was mom and dad who said Dayton was my girlfriend. Why is this happening to me? Why????

I cried myself to sleep again.

Frankie's POV

I was shocked when dad told mom that Henry kissed Dayton. Of all the girls in that school, Dayton?? I wanted to get rid of him but I couldn't hurt my parents' feelings. So, I decided to warn him to stay away from her and I did.

I know mom and dad are downstairs and they can't hear anything going on up here. I slammed the door in his face and went to my room. I think he understands that it is best to stay away from her.
