As soon as she heard the door slamming behind him, she regretted her actions. Can did absolutely nothing to deserve her attitude. But she was too afraid to admit it to him... She could feel his fury in that door slam. It shattered her soul.
Demet immediately decided to call her sister Derya to ask for advice. Derya was always the voice of reason, giving Demet new perspectives and different points of view.
Derya listened carefully until Demet finished pouring her heart out and said: "You are going to lose him if you don't apologize. Are you willing to jeopardize something so meaningful for such nonsense?" She continued, "People will always have something to say about your relationship. That's part of being famous. You both chose it, you both entered this relationship fully aware of the risks..."
"Derya he will never forgive me. You don't know Can... Once he's hurt, he will never be able to look at me the same way." As she was talking to her sister, Demet realized just how bad she hurt him.
"Then get dressed and go after him. Go now." Her sister suggested.
Demet didn't even say goodbye... she abruptly hung up the phone and ran downstairs hoping he was still there. She was running for her life. Can was her life and she wasn't ready to give him up.Luckily, he was sitting in his car with his head burried between his hands.
"What the hell have I done?!" She thought to herself, as she knocked on his car window signaling him to open it. Can slowly raised his head and wiped off his eyes with his hand.
She grabbed the car handle and opened the door. "Can, please come outside and talk to me." She begged.
"I don't see a point Demet." He replied."
"Can, please!" She begged.
He stepped outside of the car and looked straight into her eyes. She saw his pain and was completely devastated by it.
"Please don't give up on us... I don't know what I was thinking I just want you to come upstairs. I just want you to forgive me. Please Can!" She said with tears streaming down her face.
"I'm so tired Demet! I'm fucking tired!" He said.
Now she wasn't the only one crying on that cold winter night outside in her parking lot. He was, too. He felt so discouraged, as if all of his efforts were in vain. "I'm doing everything in my power to make you happy and it's not enough for you. There's only so much I can do... " she didn't even let him finish the sentence. She couldn't live with herself another moment knowing that she brought this strong man to tears. "My one and only, I take everything back, I trust you, I believe in us, I believe in you." She told him. She was shaking like a leaf. It was freezing outside and that didn't help either. She ran downstairs after him like a maniac in her short pjs without even grabbing her jacket.
"Come here" he said and took off his heavy wool jacket. He wrapped her in it, and smiled through his tears.
"You look like a baby inside my jacket" he said and hugged her.
"Just please come with me upstairs. We love each other, we can work everything out." She said.
He followed her lead as they disappeared in her apartment's building entrance. They hugged in the elevator and knew that this was the very last time they EVER let outside factors come between them.
