The next faw days in Monaco were nothing like Demet has been vividly
picturing them to be for Can.
He was mostly sleeping throughout the day, and wandering around at night, completely lost in a cloud of cigarette smoke and the smell of expensive booze.
The more he tried forgetting about her, the more he thought about her. The more he thought about her, the more his heart ached. He got to a point where he just sat all alone in his hotel room, staring at the ceiling and reflecting on the chaos that has become his life in a split of a second. He tried analyzing and breaking down the unfortunate turn of events that brought them to where they were- miserable and apart. Slowly but surely, he began gaining clarity. As if stricken by a lightning of rational thought, for the first time in god knows how long- he was able to see her side and not just his. He was able to understand why she had left him and why she decided to break off their engagement. The realization that he in fact, was the cause for their breakup hurt him more than anything. He had to face some harsh reality and answer very difficult  questions to himself before moving forward, and sadly he wasn't in the right state of mind to do so. At least not at that moment.

The following morning after her arrival in Bodrum, a package has arrived for Demet straight to the front door of her vacation home.
"Mom! Did you order anything?" Demet asked her mom.
"No sweety. Not that I can remember..." Ayse replied.
Demet carefully opened the package. Inside was a funny laughing cat greeting card:
"Only from our deepest places of pain we can grow to become undeniably happy.

May this new phone be filled with nothing but happy memories, good music, and phone calls to your favorite handsome brother.
I'm always here for you my baby sister.
Love,
Volkan."

Demet couldn't believe her eyes. She didn't even get the chance to tell her brother about her breakup from Can, but her mother notified him already. Ayse felt like she had to share this with Volkan, knowing how influential and prominent his presence was in Demet's life. Ayse felt very proud of the three children that she raised completely on her own.
Even when their finances were extremely scarce, their love and concern for each other was always bountiful. She always taught them to look for each other, to be there for each other's success, and to offer a shoulder to cry on in times of need.
Even after becoming one of the most famous Turkish actresses at such a young age, Demet has never forgotten her past and where she came from. The more success and fame she achieved, the more grateful and humble she became.
Her loved ones always remained her number one priority. Unlike many other young actors who lost their way on their journey to stardom, Demet always remained grounded. She knew very well that fame was only temporary, whereas love and friendship are forever to cherish and hold.

"Volkan Abi! Thank you so much!" She shouted into her new phone, finally allowing a tiny smile escape her beautiful sad face.
"I knew you won't last a day without your music sis." He laughed.
"It's weird, but I'm kind of happy not to have my old phone. It holds too many memories for me to be able to deal with right now... I just need to forget it all brother." She sadly said to Volkan.
"Do you feel like talking about what happened? I mean... I already saw that he left Istanbul, so I kind of assumed that things are really bad. Aren't they?" Volkan asked, knowing the answer already.
"You don't even realize how bad... I can't even believe a single word he said to me in the past. How can you tell someone you love them and treat them like that? How can you promise a lifetime and run away from me with every chance that you get? How???" Demet wanted Can to answer these tough questions, but she knew in her heart that he's incapable of doing so.
"Sister I wish I had the answers for you. I love Can as a brother but I completely get where you're coming from. I'm always the one who tells you to reconsider his feelings but this time I'm not going to. I'm just as shocked and as disappointed as you are. He really fucked up this time." Volkan said, knowing that his words would be very painful for Demet to listen to. He had to be honest with her. As much as he respected Can, his sister's wellbeing came first and foremost and he wasn't going to let anybody cause her so much heartache.
Demet carefully listened to what he had to say, and took a long deep breath in. It was all sinking in... their breakup, her hurt, his hurt.
"What should I do my brother? I just don't know how to move on from him...from us. He is in everything I do. He is in everything I see. Every single breath I take is him, and every heartbeat hurts without him..." She had no more tears left to cry, just the painful realization that he was no longer hers.
"The only thing you can do at this point is try your best to live your life. You are smart, beautiful, talented, you are loved by so many people! Try to smile, try to convince yourself that things will be okay and you'll see, they will be." Volkan tried cheering her up, trying to convince her and to convince himself that she could overcome this hurdle. He knew how much Can and Demet loved each other, he witnessed their love with his own eyes. He just couldn't bring himself to see either one of them being able to move on and live life apart from the other. It seemed against all rules of nature. But he had to do the best he could to help his sister through this difficult time, even if it meant going against what he believed was meant to be.

After hanging up with Volkan, Denet decided to clear her thoughts and open a blank new page in her book. She took a long shower, dressed up, and went to the beach to meet with her friends.
The change in her attitude did wonders for her- she laughed and giggled, for a brief moment reminding herself of her old happy self.
Ever since their show ended, both Can and Demet felt lost and confused, and uncertain about their professional future projects. Their uncertainty clearly took its toll on their happiness, and Demet was severely affected by it.
Being surrounded by loved ones was just what she needed, unlike Can, who completely turned away from everybody and everything.
Seeing her pictures from Bodrum online, slowly ate at him, burning him up in flames piece by piece. Seeing her smiling, seeing her wearing a dress he bought for her awhile ago, seeing her dancing, was way more than he could handle.
"I'm dying inside missing her and isolating myself from the world while she's partying like nothing has ever happened!" He thought to himself in anger. He was mad at her for being happy without him. He was mad at her for forgetting about him so quickly. But mostly, he was mad at himself for not being able to forget about her.
