They headed back to the hotel in a taxi after having a nice dinner with Faruk and his relatives.
Demet's mood has changed all of a sudden, and Can felt it.
"Why are you being so quiet?" He asked her as she looked out of the cab's dark windows.
"Nothing really." She replied without even looking at him.
"Ok. Can you at least look at my face when we're talking?" He said.
She turned to him, her face seemed so different... as if something that belonged to him was lost from her eyes.
He took her hand and placed it in his.
"Demet please tell me what's wrong. Have I done anything to offend you?" He asked.
She was still silent. The taxi stopped in front of their hotel, and they stepped out and walked into the lobby. Can felt his stomach twisting and turning. He didn't want her to be mad over anything a day before he has to leave.
Once in their room, she turned to him and said: "I received few offers for new shows."
"Ok, and?" He said.
"I just feel like with us going to work on separate projects, with you going away now, where does it leave us? Where does it leave our relationship? We won't be able to even see each other most days. How can this even work?" She said to him.
He felt like he was punched right in his heart.
"Where is this coming from? We talked about it so many times before Demet. What is the problem? You don't trust me going to Italy, do you?" He felt like she was trying to create a fight and it really angered him. She was the one who convinced him to go to Italy.
"What does it have to do with trust? Besides, if you really didn't want to go to Italy, you just wouldn't go! Don't make it look like I forced you to go because that's a lie!" She started raising her voice.
"Are you seriously going to fight me the day before I have to leave?! I came here to be with you! I didn't have to come here today!" He answered back.
"So just leave! No one is forcing you to stay here with me. If you rather be home before your stupid trip just leave...leave." she started crying in fury.
"Demet what are you saying? What are you fucking saying?" He yelled.
"You heard what I said!" She yelled back and stepped outside to the balcony. She needed to breathe.
He was so mad at her. He did everything in his power to make sure they spend time together before he had to leave and all she could focus on was her trust issues.
He dumped his stuff in a suitcase and got ready to leave the hotel. He was exhausted from the day, and his frustration with her made him even more tired and dishevelled.
She heard him slam the door behind him, and she felt her heart being shattered on the shiny porcelain floor of the balcony. She curled up into a fetal position on a wicker rocking chair, burrying her face in her hands, refusing to believe that he just left.
She must have sat there in the same exact position for well over two hours when she was startled by someone touching her shaking shoulder.

The moment he got downstairs to the hotel lobby, he knew that he couldn't just leave like that. But he was so angry with her that he also couldn't go back and face her.
He took a long walk down the pier, trying to wrap his mind around their argument. Clearly we have some jealousy and trust issues, he thought.
He decided to call his mom because he just couldn't come up with a solution on his own.
He gave his mom a preview to their argument as objective as he possibly could, and asked for her advice.
"Can, why did you leave?" She asked.
"Because she asked me to." He replied.
"Son, you and I know that she didn't want you to leave. She is insecure about your trip, and I can understand her. You never publicly addressed your relationship, and you are about to go to a place where you are very famous... without her. Of course she feels insecure. Wouldn't you feel the same way?" She asked.
"I asked her to come with me and she said no!" He replied in anger.
"Can, you have to learn to control your anger, she doesn't deserve it. If you're going to be married someday, you'll have much more stress and countless obstacles to handle together and walking away is never the solution. Just look at dad and I... look at what happened to us." She said.
That's all he needed to hear. He wanted a better future for Demet and for himself, and at that moment he knew he just had to go back and talk to her before it's too late.

She raised her head up in surprise, seeing him standing beside her.
"Will you please come inside and talk to me?" He asked her.
She got up and went inside the room, followed by him.
She went to quickly wash her face, and came back to the bedroom to find him sitting on the bed waiting for her. She sat right across from him, unable to avoid the sadness in his eyes.
"What is really going on Demet? Tell me." He asked.
"Our lives are changing and going in different directions Can. I'm losing my mind over it while you seem to enjoy it..." she replied.
"I seem to enjoy what? Everything I do is with the intent of securing our future. We both knew that the show would end one day and that we would be working on separate projects." he continued.
"I'm not even talking about that... and now you are going to Italy for god knows how long and I already know what the media is going to say about it. I just don't have the energy or strength to deal with it anymore." She said sadly.
"Demet I don't give a damn about what they are going to say. If you trust me, then why does it even matter? I could be saying the same thing about you planning to spend your summer here in Bodrum, but I choose not to because I trust you." He knew exactly what was bothering her.
"Only difference is that I'm here with my friends Can, and you're going to a foreign country where everybody thinks and wishes that you're single." She replied.
"But how is it my fault my love? All I'm focused on is you... I don't talk to other women, I don't look at other women, everything in my life revolves around you. When did my actions show you otherwise?" He asked.
She felt her tears slowly starting to form yet again. She just couldn't control it. He saw her struggling to hold back her tears and he pulled her closer to him, wrapping his strong arms around her fragile frame.
"Baby please don't ruin us. Please don't. Let's keep growing what we have, I swear I just don't want to lose you..." he whispered to her.
"I don't want to lose you either..." she whispered back as he kissed her. Her lips still tasted salty from all the tears that she cried, a painful reminder for the anguish that came along with their fame.
He laid her down beside him, gently stroking her soft hair and kissing her sunkissed face.
His touch was her remedy, she never wanted him to let go of her.
That night they made love in silence... Both afraid of what the future holds, both determined to make their relationship last for a lifetime.
