Can woke up to a loud knock on their suite's door.
Demet was still sound asleep, her tiny frame safely nestled in his protecting arms. She was an angel on the face of the earth. He didn't want to disturb her and wake her up, but the knocks on the door got louder and louder by the second.
Can gently moved her to the pillow next to him, getting up slowly to grab a bathroom robe.

"I'm coming, I'm coming" he said to the persistent stranger knocking nonstop.
He opened the door and was surprised to see his manager standing at the doorway with a serious look on his face.
"Cuney what are you doing here?"
Can asked.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your stay, but it's urgent. Can, you have to call Faruk the show's producer. There are some serious problems and changes with the show.... please just get ready quickly and go meet with him." Cuney said.
"I don't understand what's going on. Brother, I'm still half drunk, Demet is still sleeping... let me have coffee first before I can wrap my mind around what you're telling me here." Can held his head in confusion and said.
Cuney nodded and rubbed Can's shoulder. Can loved him as a big brother, and he knew that if it wasn't a serious matter, Cuney would never show up unannounced.
"I should get going. Call me after you speak to Faruk." Cuney said and left Can to deal with the chaos in his head.
He paced back and forth the huge living room area, thinking if he should tell Demet, or if he should first handle it by himself. Before he could even make a decision, she was standing right in front of him.
"Good morning love of my life" he said and pulled her over to give her a kiss.
"Good morning my love." She replied and kissed him back. She saw right away that something was wrong. He looked worried. It didn't take much for her to know, she read him like an open book.
"Can what's going on? What's bothering you honey?"
"Cuney was just here. He said that we have to call Faruk because there are some problems with the show Demet we both know what this means. They want to end the show early..." he replied.
Can was furious. It wasn't the first time the show was on the verge of being cancelled. The production team kept changing writers, kept changing the plot, and couldn't come to an agreement with the network over various financial issues.
But that wasn't the reason Can was upset. He was afraid of the show ending because he didn't want to stop working with Demet. He loved spending time with her on set, he loved their sweet and funny improvisations, he loved everything about being around her energy all day. He couldn't bare the thought of the show ending, and her going to work with another male actor.
"What can we do, my life? I'll be very sad if that's the case, but that's part of this industry. It's not the first time a successful show is ending early and definitely not the last..." she said and tried to calm him down.
"Demet I don't want it to end for us..." he said with a sad look on his face. It killed her to see her strong man looking so hurt and disheveled.
"Can nothing is ending. We're just beginning our beautiful life together! Maybe it's for the better! listen, I'm sad too. I wanted our show to last for five more seasons... I'm sad it won't, but I'm also happy for what it gave me... It gave me you Can! I'll forever be grateful!" She held him tight and kissed his nose.
Her words gave him a little consolation. He was sure of their love and commitment and he knew he had to stay focused on that.
"Do you want to get ready and go meet with the producers?" He unwillingly asked.
"Tamam my love." She replied.

The meeting with the producers was nothing but comfortable.
Can just set there with an empty stare as Faruk announced the plan to abruptly end the show. Demet was tearing up, beginning to realize that this beautiful era of her and Can acting together is about to come to an end. Can held onto her hand as tightly as he could under the meeting table, afraid of letting her go. With every word of the production company mentioning the finale, a little part of him died inside. She could feel his anguish, and it tormented her heart.
"Can we please have a five minute break to digest this?" She asked the executives at the table.
"Sure, daughter." Faruk replied.
She got up and turned to Can. He got up after her, as they both stepped outside to get some fresh air.
"I don't even know what to say." He looked down at the pavement and said to her.
She was silently crying, letting her tears drop to the ground right by his feet... as silent as they were, his heart could hear them loud and clear. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her head.
"Don't cry my one and only. We will be just fine. Remember what you said earlier? This show brought us together and that's all that matters." He held her tight and said.
She nodded and replied: "I know... but why does it hurt so bad?"
Her words were breaking him. He wanted to go inside the meeting room and flip the table and give each and every person responsible for that decision a piece of his mind. But he knew it wouldn't help. He had to be strong for her, for both of them.
"Come on let's go back in. Let's finish with this bulshit and go have a nice lunch by the water, just the two of us. What do you say?" He wiped her tears and asked.
"I love you." She replied and they went back inside hand in hand.
