Midnights!

Chapter 6.

As the morning came, we left for our mission, thankfully a new medic was heading over to a battle ground and gave us a lift near where we should be meeting the group of loners and the unit from the bird's walls. We only had to walk for twenty minutes from where we got dropped off at, we all kinda talked on the way. Well I say talk it was more Kieran talking about girls as James made jokes over it. JJ would try and say something smart but James would out smart him while Kieran made jokes. Me and max just kinda walked in the back in silence and laughing at a couple of the jokes. Soon we got to the meeting spot but didn't see anyone around, we checked the shops around us to make sure it was safe before we all sat on an old car waiting.

Soon we saw a group of people walked over, we guessed they were the group of loners we need to protect. We turned behind us to see a small unit walk towards us and we guessed they came from birds walls. "hey we the T-rex unit, I'm the leader max" Max said with a smile as they stopped by us. "nice to meet you, we the snake unit, I'm the leader dave" the leader of their unit said with a smile. Dave was short with brown hair and brown eyes, he was twenty years old and his soul protector was a dark blue sniper gun. "Kieran, lets protect the ladies well" Kieran said with a grin and held his hand out. "you can have the ladies and I have the pretty guys" kuro said with a grin and wink as he shook Kieran hand making Kieran smile. Kuro was normal height with black hair and grey eyes, he was nineteen years old and his soul protector was a black hand gun. "sorry he the idiot of the group, I'm James the brains" James said with a smile as he turned to one of the other men. "ted, its fine he our idiot as well but I'm glad I found someone else with a brain" ted said with a kind smile, he was tall with ink black hair and brown eyes that shined and his soul protector was a white short sword, he was eighteen years old. "I'm JJ, their medic please look after me well" JJ said with a small smile since he was a little nervous for his first mission with the T-rex unit.

"no way little moon, its me yukio" a tall boy with bright blonde hair and baby blue eyes smiled as he walked over to mika. He seemed twenty, his soul weapon was a green ring sword and I had to think but then I remember who use to call me little moon. "no way, yukio, your so tall now" I say with a smile and we hug each other. "well it has been years, how luke and where my mate Pidge, still checking girls out" yukio smiled brightly and looked around to see if he was in our unit. Yukio and my oldest brother pidge were best friends, no child hood friends and was always with each other. But sadly, when the midnights first attacked Yukio family dragged him to a safety area that was made while my parents made us hide indoors. Pidge and yukio were just like twins and I loved hanging out with them when they invited me. But now I never see Yukio or Pidge smile by the cold river ever again. "I'm sorry yukio" I say looking to my feet and yukio eyes sadden as he just hugs me. "I'm sorry, it must have been tough, I should have run back and came for you both" yukio said with a sadden voice and I shake my head. "no, he would have been happy knowing you were safe and was fighting back" I smile and yukio smiles back letting me go. "can I ask how he went" yukio asked holding his arm a little. "he was protecting me and luke from a mama midnight and we waited for him but he never came, I checked the place but" I stopped after tears came to both our eyes. "I see, well he was always protecting everyone even when we were kids" yukio said with a small weak smile and I just nod. "so, where is that twin of yours, luke never leaves your side since he scared so easy" yukio smiles trying to brighten the mood but tears still left my eyes. "sorry" I cry and he hugs me. "no, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked" yukio said with a frown and I quickly dry my tears remembering we on a mission.

"do you need some time or shall we get moving" Max ask with a gentle voice and I lift my head back to my normal serious look, no one would think I cried not so long ago. "its fine, lets get these people to the walls" I say and max smiles before nodding.
