Thirty Eight

Sorry for such a long wait till this new chapter. I have just been so busy with a new job that haven't had time. But I hope we are all enjoying the new season of The Flash. 

Caitlin slowly opened her eyes. She tried to make out where she was as the memory of what had happened rushed in. 

"Hey... its ok. Stay calm," said the gentle voice of Felicity.

"How long have I been out for?" whispered Caitlin. Her mouth was dry and it felt like something was stuck in her throat. 

"You have been in and out of consciousness since we came here. I think they are trying to keep you out," answered Felicity. 

"What... why?"

"Well, its more for your other half. They aren't sure how it works but Dreama seems to know a lot about you and Frost."

"She won't be getting anywhere with her. I mean, Killer Frost does what she likes. I even don't get a say in it."

Felicity realised that there was something about how Caitlin had responded. 

"Cait... you are hiding something from me? Do you still think that Killer Frost will take over you?"

Caitlin looked away. She liked how she had someone to talk to about all this but she was scared. It scared her to even think about it yet alone say it out loud. 

"Honestly, I no longer know how I feel about this all. When she is gone, I feel that she is more useful to this team. But then again she is so unpredictable."

"Why would you even think that. Yes, Frost's abilities would useful here but you are just as important to this team."

Caitlin smiled at Felicity but couldn't shake the feeling that Frost would have been better in a situation like this. 

"Caitlin, how come you are so scared of the idea that you will turn into Frost. I mean yeah she was all evil when we first met but as far as I know her, she is pretty badass," smiled Felicity.

"I really want to believe that, I do. But we all know that even in the different Earths, she is meant to be evil. Her name isn't really Saviour Frost."

"One of the main things I have learnt from Oliver is that we write our own destiny. We choose how we want our lives to turn out. We can't live in fear that something will happen. That just will stop us from living," shared Felicity. 

"Its easier said than done. I mean you don't have to worry about. I wish I was able to get that fear out of me but I can't. I know that in the past... in this Earth, Killer Frost had tried to kill Barry and everyone."

Felicity was unable to say anything to this as she didn't know how she could say anything to change how she felt. She had been through enough herself to know that in this life anything was possible. 

"Oh... I hope that I'm not interrupting anything here?" came the voice of Dreama. "It's good to see that you are awake."

"Ppffft," Caitlin rolled her eyes.

"We have a lot to talk about," smiled Dreama.

"Im sorry, because of our team I got you all also stuck in this situation," said Barry.

"Barry, we may be all different teams but at the end of the day we are still one league. We always are there for each other."

"I just don't know how this all went so downhill for us. How did we end up here? Everything in my life has turned upside down and now this. We have been through so much and now we are stuck here," laughed Barry. 

"Barry, I wish I could just say that everything will be ok in a blink of an eye. We all have gone through issues in our team. I also had a time where my whole team hated me. I fought with Diggle and I lost Felicity but we came together again as a team."

"I... I hope that is true. We right now need our team to come together in order to defeat them."

"What about this all is worrying you?" asked Oliver. "Since we came here, something in particular has been bothering  you. Is it Iris?"

"Yes that was one of the many reasons I have been worried. But Caitlin. I think she is hiding something from me and Killer Frost was also trying to tell me something," explained Barry. 

"What do you mean?"

"She hasn't been the same since I came back. I thought originally thought maybe it was all because of the problems that Iris and I had or something. But now I feel like that she is hiding something else completely."

"Did you ask her?" 

"I tried but she shuts down. I care about her and seeing her pull away like that breaks my heart."

"There are somethings that you can't fix."

"She isn't broken to be fixed. I know that all that she has been through is tough and most of it was my fault. But all I want from her is to be able to talk to me. She doesn't seem like herself," said Barry. 

"You are a leader and yes it is your responsibility to care that everyone is happy. But if there is something that they don't want to share then it's their choice. You just need to let them know that you are there for them," advised Oliver. 

"Yeah, well when we get out of here, there is a lot of things I want to change."

From where Oliver stood, he didn't what chances he and his team had to survive. They had no powers and Iris and Joe didn't even know where they were. Was this how it was all going to end... not getting killed by an alien or something but rather some guys with masks and alien weapon.
