Hikari's POV

I jumped awake, sitting straight up and stared into the darkness. The memories still fresh in my mind with the sound of HIS voice screaming, the sound of flesh tearing as a knife slashed at it, and the shattering of glass was all that I could hear. The pain lingered on my body as I relived every second of that man's torture once again. Silent tears streaked down my cheeks in a constant flow and without realising I had dragged my self into the darkest corner of my room and cradled myself. Silent tears turned to small sobs and small sobs turned to wails all until I was full-on balling. I gasped for breath at each given moment but I knew it wouldn't be enough. My chest clenched and my heart raced. Each event played itself over and over again. A broken voice was found and it chanted at a small mumble getting slightly louder each time.

"Please make it stop. Please make it stop. Please Make It Stop! STOP IT!!"

The door to my room burst open and a blurry figure rushed to my aid, wrapping their arms around me and cradled me to their chest. The person whispered soothing words, rocking me from side to side, but I never stopped. The memories got even more vivid in my brain and I couldn't register anything going on around me. It was just a buzz in the background like the annoying little fly that whizzes around the room. In these moments, all I could do was grab the shirt in front of me and breath in the pinewood scent trying to slow my breathing.

After many minutes, my breathing began to slow and the unwanted memories dimmed allowing me to go back to the present. My senses came back slowly, starting with my hearing. It was almost silent apart from the voice of my saviour as he whispered into my ear.

"It's alright. You're not alone, Hikari. He can't get you here. You're safe. We won't hurt you. We can't hurt you."

He repeated this over and over until my grip on his shirt relaxed and I slumped against the person's upper body. I fluttered my eyes open and gazed into the warm hazel eyes that belonged to none other than Tsukki. He wasn't wearing his glasses like he was the few hours prior so he must've forgotten to put them back on when he came into my room. He smiled down at me, it was the kind of smile an older brother would give to his younger siblings and it made me feel safe - safer than I had ever felt before. It was nice. I rested my head back into his clothed chest and wrapped my arms around his waist. I was so absorbed in calming down, I didn't notice the other boys in the doorway leave to their respected rooms.

I don't know how long we sat there like that but I eventually fell into a dreamless sleep for the next few hours.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I groaned, turning onto my back so I faced the ceiling and opened my eyes to stare at the milky whiteness. I rolled over and looked towards the window to see the few rays of light pool in, telling me it was morning. Sitting up, I remembered the events from the night and sighed knowing that there will be questions asked at some point today. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and dragged myself out of my room and into the bathroom to do my morning business.

Now being refreshed I sat back down at my desk and opened up to the page of the girl I drew the day before. I gazed at her and brainstormed for inspiration on the character creation process I do.

Name: Lyra
Age: 22
Sex: Female
Race: Half-Dragon, Half-Human
Sexuality: Bisexual

I decided to leave it at that and would leave the in-depth details for her for another time and keep the development going for when I write a story to put her into. I begrudgingly left the room and carried my self down the stairs and into the kitchen. A lean figure lurked around the oven with a frying pan in hand as he flipped the food inside of it. Nozomi.

"Good morning, Hikari. I hope you feel better." Nozomi turned to look at me and smiled down at me lovingly. I only nodded in response and sat my self down on one of the stools around the counter.

Not long after a plate with a few pancakes was placed in front of me and I dug into my heart's content. I was nice being able to eat however much I wanted especially after not being able to eat for days or weeks at a time.

It didn't take me long to finish the meal so I picked up the plate and washed it, placing it on the drying rack to dry and to put away later. I shared my thanks to Nozomi and left towards the stairs once again. Thankfully, I didn't bump into any of the other boys when walking back to my room as I didn't really want to deal with the questions so early in the morning and besides I knew that at least one of them would knock on my door later.

I came back to my room and sat down back at my desk, opening my sketchbook back up and flipped to the next clean page. I grabbed my iPod and turned on some of my music and let it control the movements of what I drew.

As I drew, I saw the images of a kitten I once saw sat outside the window of my old house. I could feel myself sketch out the body, then the ears, whiskers, eyes, and paws. It built itself together gradually and soon enough I was finishing the fur strokes.

I sat back and looked towards the now filling sketchbook, putting a small signature under the paws. I smiled and my mind filled with new happy thoughts with how I could actually be happy. I could trust them when I felt ready. I didn't have to be scared anymore. The only thing that was holding me back was the trauma from all of those years prior. At this point, I hadn't even noticed the faint glow forming around my hands and the flower forming on the desk in front of me.

"Hikari come down for lunch!"

The voice of Ai disturbed my train of thought and pushed away from my seated position and left the room and to the dining room without even seeing the lone flower that rested over the sketchbook.
