Kids can be so damn cruel!
So god damn cruel!
My blood starts to boil at the thought of Evie being teased on her first day of school. Shit what had Evie ever done to anyone to be treated so badly by her peers.
My heart ached at what I already knew.
This day was going to end terribly for Evie.
She was going to come home in tears, like she had done for years back in Broad Meadows.
I grip the steering wheel hard in frustration as thoughts flood through my mind.
Bad thoughts like going back to that darn school and tearing to shreds anyone who dared make fun of Evie.
"Our pack is no different Percy" I hear my wife Melinda's voice filter into my mind.
I wince at Mel words and I snarl a warning back at her. Jesus Christ speaking ill of the pack can lead to some pretty bad consequences and I'm in no mood for an ass kicking from no one.
"Don't you dare snarl at me Percy James" Mel bellowed back with so much force that I winced again, this time in pain.
"Do not speak again Mel, I will see you when I get home". I retorted panicking at the thought that our pack was somewhere in the area and was ears dropping on our conversation.
"Just relax Percy, Jesus Christ just chill out. The pack can't hear us remember we are out of range" Mel drawled as if she was becoming impatient and speaking to a slow person.
"MEL" I snarled "DO.NOT.SAY ANOTHER. WORD"
I heard a slight "humph" and then like the mist on a cold July morning, Mel disappeared from my mind.
"Damn fricken woman trying to get us damn killed" I mutter violently under my breath as I pull over to the side of the road.
I turn the engine off and slump my head across the steering wheel.
