I was at an end.

I had searched every file that my father had locked away in his desk and still come up empty handed.

None of the girls in any of the photo's resembled the girl in my vision. Many of the photo's were outdated, old or faded, which didn't help me at all.

I hear a knock at the door.

"Come in" I order.

Immediately Vincent my father's beta enters the room.

"Hope I haven't got you at a bad time Christian" Vincent apologizes as he takes a seat down at my father's desk.

"I alway's have time for you Vincent, you are family after all" I say openly and honestly.

Vincent is my father's right hand man. A surrogate father to me when my father was away on business. To say that I cared about Vincent was a massive understatement. He is Jacinta's father after all and my soon to be father in law.

"I know that thing's have been rough around here, the road is still blocked and your father has taken seriously ill on his return home. I just hate to burden you with any more problem's". Vincent apologized yet again.

I wave a dismissive hand at Vincent.

"Your problem's are my problem's, tell me what concerns you so?" I demand hating the fact that Vincent is troubled.

"The couple Percy and Melinda James that returned with your father from Boulder Creek, they are distraught. They have come to me to ask if I could speak to you on their behalf."

"They are distraught for what reason?" I inquire curious to the fact that I still had no idea what business my father had attended too while he was in Boulder Creek.

"It's their daughter Evie, she was left behind in Boulder Creek. She went missing on her first day at her new school. Her parent's are besides themselves and have not eaten since their arrival back here. I share thier concern's that Evie is in serious danger for she is utterly defenceless in every way". Vincent implores as beads of sweat formed on his face.

"Why did my father leave Boulder Creek without trying to at least locate her" I asked unamused.

My father was not the type of wolf too just leave a pack member behind

"Because Evie did not turn on her 17th birthday as us werewolves do. She was also crippled from a car accident when she was very young that also killed her natural birth parent's Your father felt it necessary that she live with the human's as it be too dangerous a life for her in the pack. We are subject to attack's all the time. Evie would not be able to defend herself should the occassion arise".
