I could smell them. Definitely our kind yet the scents were not as strong as they would be if they were fresh tracks. I sniffed further and I made an instant connection with one of the scent's among the other's.

It was my father's scent.

As faded as my father's scent was I could still make it out. That meant we were getting close, very close. Unlike my father we had travelled in our wolf form for our entire journey. It was the fastest form of transport to Boulder Creek without having to take the many detours in place, due to the storms having unleashed there fury upon the roads along the coast.

"Follow my father's scent, it will take us to the homestead where Percy and Melissa where living before they returned to Broad Meadow's, we will stay there." I instruct as Ryan, Troy and Jacob howl in unison.

It took almost two days of running to finally make it over the border into Boulder Creek. We were at least an hour away from the old homestead where Percy and Melissa had stayed. If I had any chance of finding Evie, I had to go back to the last place she called home.

It was then that I was hit with a very uncanny smell. A smell that I knew very well. No this smell was not my father's. It was that of a rogue, it was also very faint. Just barely recognisable.

"I smell rogue, it's faint but definitely rogue" I curse as Ryan, Troy and Jacob come to a screeching halt.

"Do you think it's Joanna?" Ryan queried as I shook my head.

"I cant say for certain, it could be Evie's scent for she is no longer part of our pack" I say as Ryan stared at me confused.

"Evie as in wheelchair Evie?" Ryan asked incredulous, his head cocked to the side

I cursed myself again. I had forgotton to mention the circumstances surrounding Evie to Ryan. I had been squarely focused on finding Joanna, which in hindsight still remained my priority.

"Yeah you know Evie?" I ask as Ryan padded toward's me.

"A little bit not much only that she's sickly. Seen her rolling around in her wheelchair back home". Ryan sighs as he flops down to the ground no doubt taking every opportunity he could to rest.

"Would you recognise Evie if you were to see her again?"

"How could I forget. She's beautiful even though she's in a wheelchair.  Pity your father ordered us to keep away from her or else I think she would have been a pretty cool chick to hang out with" Ryan stated as his wolf started to take over and sniff at the dirt.

"My father said what?" I reel back in surprise as Ryan shook his furry coat.

"Yeah we were told not to go near Evie, been that way since we were kid's. I'm surprised that you of all people did not know about that but yet again you never were in the same room as her so you never had to worry about keeping your distance" Ryan stated his eyes big as if he regretted ever saying anything.
