" Why do you live your life as a rogue?"

"Because I can and I will"  Joanna states shrugging her shoulder's at the same time.

"That's not an answer Joanna, I wanna know why. Why did you leave your family? Why give up everything in your life to hide in some cave, to live everyday knowing it may be your last'.

Joanna sighed sadly "I don't really feel like going to the salon. We seriously can't have this conversation there, so you may as well come back to my place."

I nodded, satisfied that soon I may get the answers I craved.

The trip to Joanna's place was short and sweet. Her apartment was in a tough neighbourhood, rubbished littered the streets and homeless people begged for change. But again Joanna is a warewolf and she could snap a human in half easy.

Thanks to a broken elevator Joanna had to carry me up to her apartment. She did so without a care in the world and placed me onto the sofa gently as she could once we got inside.

"Thank's Jo"

"Giving me a nickname now are you, Wheel's" Joanna grinned a she kicked off her shoes and sat on the sofa across from me.

"Yeah it's much easier" I laughed as I took a sip of the cold water that she had just poured for me.

'So I guess I will go back to what you asked me in the car" Joanna looked at me sternly for confirmation.

I nod yes and Joanna relaxed back into her seat.

"Well what I do know is that it wasn't just one thing that made me run, it was a combination of things.  You know what I am saying. You never truly value your freedom until you have it taken away from you. Freedom to live life the way you choose it." Joanna stated firmly as she picked up her cup and took a big swig of water.

"So I'm guessing you had your freedom taken away from you?"

Joanna nods but remains silent. I watch as her eyes grow cloudy and a solitary tear slide out from its hiding place and down her cheek.

I look at the ground trying to think of some way to make Joanna smile again. Something to take away the pain her past brought her.
