Gondor Palace
The morning bells went off. The palace is vibrant with the noises of servants running in and out, getting ready for tonight's Crowning Ball. The ball is held in honor of the newly crowned King, Harry Styles.
Our new King was getting dressed as his advisor, Paul, arrived to announce today's schedule.
"Your Majesty," Paul said, bowing slightly.
"Is everything ready for the ball?" Harry said while fixing his shirt in front of the mirror.
"Yes, Your Majesty, everything is in order. All the nobles are set to arrive today. I have all the servants preparing the Royal Guest Quarter for our guests to take residence after the celebration."
"Do you have the guest list?"
"I do, Your Majesty," Paul said, pulling out a scroll and handing it to Harry.
Harry scanned through all the names of the nobles that were on the list of attendance.
Harry stops at a particular name, and his eyebrows start to crease. "Duke Liam Payne of Harroway will be attending alone?"
"The Senior Duke of Harroway passed away a year ago, leaving Duke Payne the successor of the Payne House. His other families are currently staying on the outskirt of the border. The Duke is the only member of the Payne household in the capital."
Harry slowly nods his head. He remembers being a young Prince and visiting the Harroway Estate with his father. That's where Harry first met Liam. The young Duke carried himself with such dignity that a kid can only imagine.
Harry smile at the memory of such an enthusiastic kid. Liam must be heartbroken after his father's death. Harry knows how hard it must be for him. The young King had trouble coping with his father's death for the first year; he hopes no one ever has to experience the pain of losing a parent.
His father, King Edward Styles, died a little more than a year ago. Harry was the Crown Prince, and he was on a mission to lead the Gondor's Army against some rebellion tribes. These tribes were descendants of the Old Kingdoms. They create small uprises to instigate wars between the tri-kingdoms—useless and harmful efforts. When Harry returned from the mission, his father's illness got worse. King Edward passed away in a few days. Harry was crowned almost immediately. The Young Crown Prince had to step up and bear the weight of the kingdom at nineteen.
Harry spent many years in the Royal Military Academy. He worked his way up to the First Ranked Knight-Captain position of the Gondor's Army. Harry Styles worked hard to live up to his title because he didn't want to be known as another useless spoiled Prince who inherited the throne because it was his bloody birthright. That's nonsense.
That's why it took Harry a year after the King's Coronation to make the official announcement of his status to the world. Harry spent the year filtering the Royal Court, eliminating bad blood, reinstating partnerships with the tri-kingdom, and strengthing Gondor's military power. He wants to make sure that he can live up to his father's name. He wants to become a King before he proclaims it.
