Daryl POV
We finally stopped for a little break from the road at a little complex with a Walmart, target and a sobeys. With a forest behind it. Beth and I were walking when I decided to ask her about what she was talking about with Emma.
" Beth? What did you talk to Emma about?" I asked
" oh, just about her past." She replied.
" oh cool. " I said
" I have to tell you something. I decided to take care of Emma like she's my own daughter, because she has had a horrible childhood and I think she needs stability and someone to talk to and to look after her. " she said
" Beth! No you can't do that. We already have a child of our own and our group. There's no way that I can let you do that. It's just not safe. I'm sorry but I can't let you do that!" He said loudly.
" But Daryl, I HAVE TO!" I yelled " I feel obligated to. She's had such a rough past and we both get along great. And did I mention she loved Abby??"
" YES BUT WE HAVE OUR OWN PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH BETH" he yelled
" FINE, WHATEVER. IM DOING IT ANYWAY AND YOU CANT CHANGE IT!" I yelled and walked back to the group. I just hope they didn't hear any of that...
As I walked back to to group I notice that I don't even tear up or cry. I guess nothing can make me cry anymore. We just have to dead with what's in front of us.
" hey em! Wait can I call you em?" I asked
" yeah, totally! Umm..... I was wondering if you could maybe kind of take care of me?" She said so fast I could barely hear her
" aw sweetie, if course I can. I don't know about Daryl though yet. Because I told him that I wanted to take care if you on my own and he kind of flipped out so...." I said
" that's okay. As long as I have you" Emma said
