KAITLIN POV

I fidgeted and wrung my hands together uncomfortably as my hair was pulled back into two small braids that connected at the back of my head. The rest of my hair was allowed to hang in loose curls. 'Done.' I turned to face the Telmarine girl stood behind me.

'Thank you.'

She curtseyed and left the room quickly. I sighed and stood up, looking down at the beautiful gown. It was an elegant off the shoulder gown that was pulled in at the waist and flared out until it reached the ground. It had been one of the many that had been made in preparation for the coronation.

We were being coronated today, I thought walking to the balcony of the room that overlooked the castle courtyard; I peered down at the Telmarine children with a small smile on my face. A flash of blond caught my eye and I watched Peter as he motioned me down. He grinned up at me as Ed joined his side. I shook my head; Susan had ordered us to stay in our rooms so that we made a 'greater impact' at our coronation.

'Are you alright?'

I faced Caspian as we; him, Jade and I, waited outside of the throne room for our cue and tried to summon up a small smile. 'Not really, I'm nervous.'

He squeezed my hand once and Jade faced me. 'You'll be fine Katy, they'll love you.' I nodded and looked back to the door, swallowing nervously.

The doors opened, and all eyes swung over to the three of us as we walked into the room and stood before three of the seven thrones. Aslan stepped towards us and turned to face Lucy as she held a pillow with three crowns on it. She sent us a small smile as Aslan began to speak.

'I present to you Queen Jade, the Brave.' Edmund stepped forward and took the crown off Lucy and moved to stand before Jade. He set it gently on her head before standing on her right, in front of his own throne.

'King Caspian, the Tenth.' Susan stepped forward then and Lucy handed her his crown. He lowered his head, but his eyes never left hers as she placed it on him. A small blush found its way onto her face as she stood by his side.

'And Queen Kaitlin, the Courteous.' I straightened up slightly as Peter stood before me. He sent me a gentle smile as he put the crown on my head before tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. He stepped to my side as Lucy stood in front of her throne.

Aslan lowered his head in respect, and we all sat. 'Long live the Kings and Queens of Narnia'

As we rode through the village and headed into the castle, I glanced around the courtyard. Children ran, laughing, as they tried to catch up with our horses. The horses slowed to a stop and we dismantled quickly.

I walked towards my horse's head and stroked it softly, my eyes caught on a group of girls that swarmed the three boys. The boys shared an uneasy look as the girls began to bat their eyelashes at them. Sudden movement caught my eye and I watched as Jade walked towards the group, her eyes focused on a girl that set her hand on Edmunds arm, squeezing it flirtatiously. Pressing my face into the horse, I smothered a laugh as she tapped the girl on the shoulder and singed her eyebrow before she could even begin to understand what had happened. Edmund, noticing Jade's presence, moved to chase after her as she stormed away.

Turning my attention back to the horse, I petted it, smoothing a gentle hand across its face. Hands took a hold of my shoulders and I stiffened. Looking over, I met Peters gaze and relaxed into his hold. Squeezing my shoulders once he pressed his chest to my back and slid his hands down my arms to link our fingers together.
