chapter 14~ protection

Kenneth pov.

It was 3 am  when I woke up to the sound of violet tossing and turning. She was drenched in. Sweat and felt very hot.

She jumped up and started breathing rapidly.

I grabbed her and pulled her into my arms as she rested her head on my shoulders.

"It's just another nightmare baby" I tell her

"But it's been 3 days since we known slim knows where we are. Ever since then I've been having this nightmare that he is going to come and kill you and take me and kyler into terrible torture I can't sleep right,  Kenneth I don't feel safe" she cried

"Everything is going to be fine violet. Trust me.  Slim ain't gon do shit to us, he's not a wise person.  I have something comming for him, now I'm gonna go get you some water and check on kyler too. You just stay here and relax" I tell her as i climbed out the bed and walked down the hall. I peeped inside her room to make sure she is ok.

She laid in her bed peacefully  was asleep.  I smiled and continued walking towards the kitchen down stairs.  I poured violet a nice fresh glass of water and carried it up the stairs and into our bedroom

"She's okay? "

"Yeah she good. You need to relax" I said

She gulped down the water and  climbed on me as I laid back down

I held her tight and stayed up till she fell asleep

*hours later.

I woke up to violet cooking. 

It smelled delicious.

I got up and just as I was about turn the corner kyler zipped right in front of me.

I grabbed her and tossed her in the air as she giggled.

"Kenny don't wrestle with her too hard she got asthma" violet warned as she placed down some plates of breakfast.

"I know baby, I would never harm her" I said as I picked her up and placed her down in the chair.

" Why you up so early anyway? " I asked

"I'm taking kyler down to this school I've applied for. She is 5 years old and I don't want her to fall behind" she says.

"Kyler Don't know french violet' I  tell her

"Her teacher speaks English,  and some other kids do too. It's not far from the house and she is very capable of going" she says

"Why would you wanna enroll her into school right now when slim is watching us and know where we are?" I asked

" I thought you said you were going to handle him?"

"I am, but that doesn't mean taking her into a more limited environment where she could be tooken. "

"The school starts from 9 a.m to 2 p.m , I'll be there ever day to pick her up and make sure she is safe. Calm down kenneth" she says.

" I dont feel comfortable with it but ight. But make sure you there today to pick her up before 2" I said.

With that she turned her body towards kyler kissed her on the cheek and got up.

"Kenny?" Kyler brought my attention back to her

"Wassup baby girl?" I asked

"I'm nervous" she frowned

"Aweee don't be, just be yourself and have fun" I tell her
