"So, she says you're a... bedpan?" Marco translated before getting hit by Gothi, causing him to reread her writing. "Ow! Sorry, demon. A half demon to be exact." Tom was too fixated on Gothi's writing to pay much attention.

"How can you tell what she's writing? It just looks like a little kid scribbled in here, " Tom said before Gothic hit him. Tom growled as his entire body engulfed in flames and his eyes turned red. Marco quickly went to Tom to calm him down. As Marco placed his hands on Tom's shoulders, the flames slowly diminished. Weirdly, Marco wasn't burned. Gothi's eyes widened as Tom's eyes turned back to their original color.

"It's fine."

"It's not fine. She just hit me on the head for no reason!" Tom rubbed his head where he was hit as Marco let go of him. Though he was calmer than before.

"There was a reason. You insulted her."

"I was just stating the truth." Tom was immediately hit again by Gothi. This time it wasn't just because he insulted her writing. It was because she wanted to test something. Tom once again growled but before he flamed up, Marco put a hand on his shoulder to stop him. Gothi quickly wrote something down.

"Oh!" Marco said in surprise.

"What? What'd she say- doh, write?" Tom asked.

"She wants us to spend as much time together as possible. And I have to... Take all of your classes."

"What?!"

"Aw, man! How am I gonna get into a good college if I'm in a lower grades classes?" Marco was a grade higher than Tom, having jumped a grade once.

"And I can't spend time with him! I just want to be with my friends!" As Tom said that, the weight of his words fell on him. He was a bit scared to spend time with Marco. Not because of the plan. In fact, it didn't even cross his mind. He just.... He didn't know what he wanted, but he knew it was bad for him.

Or was it? But Gothi was stubborn and didn't change her mind. So Marco got a note from her and went to North's office with Tom to get his schedule changed.

The next day

Jack was sitting by himself at lunch, he couldn't focus on anything, when Hiccup inexplicably came to sit with him.

"Hey, " He said to Jack.

"Hey... " Jack said unsurely. Everyone was ignoring him. Why was Hiccup coming to sit with him? And where was Merida? "Where's Miss Prissy?" Jack asked stuffing another bite of his sandwich in his mouth.

"Oh, " Hiccup looked disappointed that Merida was the first question Jack asked. "She's off on a trip with her family for a few days. I-i encouraged her to g-go, " Hiccup stuttered, perking up a bit. He probably thought Jack would be happy to hear that. Jack wasn't sure, but he thought he saw a bit of blush on his cheeks.

"I assume you did this for me?" Jack asked. Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck nervously and nodded. "What's the catch?"

"W-w-why does there have to be a-" He stopped when Jack gave him a really? look. "Ok, I know how your families are and I figured you needed a few days away from each other so you guys could get used to the new arrangement."

"Ok, but why did you do it? What do you want from me?" Hiccup looked a bit hurt.

"Nothing, except, I just want you to enjoy it here, " Hiccup said, his hand moving to Jack's. Jack was sitting outside, far away, and under a tree. There was no chance of anyone seeing it. Jack took his hand before he realized what he did.

Jack gained a blush while Hiccup's depened. They both felt as though they knew each other. Hiccup wanted to kiss Jack, but while hand holding was easily missed, a kiss wasn't.

"So, uhh, Hiccup, " Jack said, breaking the silence. "What, um.... Wh-what promted you to let us off the Isle?"

"Well, I figured it wasn't fair for you guys to be punished for your parents crimes. Plus the people here are kinda boring. " Jack chuckled at that which made Hiccup smile.

"Yeah, I can see that. It's all 'please' and 'thank you' and 'let me get that, oh no I insist'. " Jack laughed again, this time with Hiccup.

"Yeah, thanks for summing it up. Couldn'tve said it better myself." Hiccup stared at Jack with a goofy, satisfied smile. Both were disappointed when the bell rang. "Hey, " Hiccup stopped Jack before he walked off. "D-do you want to sit together tomorrow?" Jack answered before he thought about it.

"Sure, it's a date." Jack paused before stuttering. "N-not a-a date like-"

"N-no, of course not! Just sitting together." They stared at each other for a minute before Jack had to leave. Couldn't be late to goodness class.
