New Feelings

It had been a week since their first day. Tom and Tuffnut made the dragon racing team. Tuff figured out that dragons weren't that bad. Hiccup and Jack had sat together everyday at lunch except for the day before. Merida had come back and made Hiccup sit with her. Jack was jealous, though he couldn't see why he should be.

That night, Jack couldn't get his mind off of Hiccup and his mind drifted to his dream. There he was, in a meadow with a person whom he now knew as Hiccup. It was perfect.

Jack sat up and looked at the clock. It was nearly midnight. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep with his mind racing with jealousy and another feeling he couldn't place. He checked to make sure that Heather was asleep. She stirred and muttered "I've been dreaming of a true loves kiss" But didn't wake.

Making sure that he kept her asleep, he moved over to the window, lifted it up, and left. They were on the first floor, so he didn't fall. Jack was accustomed to sneaking around, so he did exactly that. Hiccup had mentioned an enchanted cove that he had found his dragon in, so he decided to find it. Hiccup said it was just past Raven Point. Luckily signs had been put up, so he knew where that was.

It surprisingly didn't take him long to find it.

Jack thought it was amazing

Jack thought it was amazing. He didn't have much time to admire it, though. He heard a screech from above and hid in a nearby bush as the perpetrator of the noise landed a few feet away.

"What did you think of that new trick?" Hiccup asked his dragon. "Think we should go another time?" The dragon, Jack remembered that it's name was Toothless, growled a definite no. He did not seem he would be swayed. Hiccup rolled his eyes and pet Toothless.

"Ok, ok. You're right. That trick was too dangerous." Toothless looked triumphant until Hiccup said he'd just find another trick to try. Toothless, annoyed, shot a small blast at Hiccup's feet making Hiccup jump back and stumble into the water. It wasn't deep enough for the water to cover his whole body where he fell in, but the splash took care of that.

Jack was having a hard time containing his laugh, but he somehow managed it and continued watching. The way Hiccup acted with his dragon was adora- No! I can't think that! I have a kingdom to help take over! Jack thought furiously. He shook his head to regain his thoughts, accidentally ruffling the bush. Toothless growled, turning to the bush.

Hiccup had finally got out of the water and shook his head, very much like a dragon, to get some of the water off. Toothless had started to move over to the bush, trying to decide whether what was in the bush a threat or not.

As Toothless neared, Jack whispered to go away, trying to keep his voice down so Hiccup didn't hear him. Unfortunately for Jack, Hiccup saw Toothless and then saw a foot sticking out of the bush. Hiccup had only told two other people about this place, well Merida followed him there once, but she wouldn't have hidden from him.

"Jack, you can come out, " Hiccup said over his dragon's growls. "Toothless." The dragon backed down but still glared at the bush. Jack stood up, embarrassed. A small blush appeared on his face.
