Chapter 3

I walked inside and followed him.
"So what did you wanna do?" I ask and we walked into his room. He sat on his bed and patted the space next to him offering me to sit so I did.
"Why are people suddenly tagging you in hundreds of posts with Daniel?" He asked
"Babe cmon it's honestly nothing just his fans assuming because they saw us together-"
"I thought you said you were with his friends so why were you two alone?" He asks
"Matthew you know it's not like that we're best friends why do you worry about everything so much" I say slightly annoyed.
"Y/n you don't get it-" He stopped
mid-sentence and smelled something, "Why the fuck do you smell like cologne" He asks sounding mad
"Probably just because I was with 6 guys today who probably all wore cologne chill"
"You wouldn't smell like that unless you stayed really close to one of them-"
"Babe what the fuck you should trust me why are we even arguing about this!?" I say cutting him off
"Why!? Because you spend so much time with Daniel you might as well be dating him" He says raising his voice
"What does that mean" I ask getting quieter
"It means I wanna fucking break up, okay!? I'm done with you" He shouts.
"M- Matthew-"
"No just go home you've clearly been getting close with Daniel enough to smell like him just get out of here" He shouts. I didn't know what to say so I just got up and left. I got into my car and broke out into tears. I didn't know what to do. I just lost the person who meant everything to me. My vision was blurry from crying even after trying to wipe all my tears. I drove to Daniels house and it only took 10 minutes.
I got out my car and felt myself starting to cry again. I knocked on the door and Daniel opened it to see me, a crying mess.
"Y/n what's wrong?"
"W- W - We broke u- up" I stuttered in between crying.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry" He said and pulled me into a tight hug. I hugged him back tightly crying into his chest. My breathing was fast and tears fell down my face like a river and my eyes were red and puffy. We walked up to his room so I just sat on his bed.
"I'll go get tissues I'll be back" Daniel said but I didn't even bother to respond because he came back so fast and handed me the box.
"What happened?" He said and sat next to my rubbing my back. He helped calm me down with the crying with just tears still falling every now and then.
"He asked me to come over so I did and he just brought up the stuff about your friends tagging me in posts if me with you not knowing if i was your girlfriend and then he just brought up the fact that I spend to much time with you that I might as well be dating you. And I don't know if it was you but someone had cologne on and when I hugged them I smelled like that and Matthew noticed and assumed it was yours" I say on the verge of crying. Daniel pulled me into his arms in a tight hug.
"He didn't deserve you anyways y/n. Your way too good for him, ok?" He says with his voice getting softer. I looked up at him
"Thanks Dani"
"Of course. I would do anything for you to be happy, you know that right?" Daniel asked with a soft tone. I didn't answer but scooted close enough to be almost sitting on his lap and hugged him with my head leaning on his chest.
"I love you Dani" I said and closed my eyes.
"I love you too y/n" He said back and pulled me closer so now I was sitting on his lap facing him with my legs around his waist.
"Your the best friend I could ever ask for Daniel" I say and he inhaled deeply then exhaled
"Your the best friend I could ever ask for too" He responded.
"Hey look I'm taller than you cuz I'm on your lap" I said and smiled
"You wish you were taller than me" He said with a small chuckle.
"Can I spend the night here?" I ask and looked down at him into his eyes.
"Yeah I'll get you some clothes to change into" He says so I moved off his lap and got my phone out to let my mom know I wouldn't be coming home. After not that long Daniel found something I could borrow.
"Here's a hoodie and sweatpants if you want" He said and handed me the clothes.
"Thanks" I say and get up to change in the bathroom. I just only put on the hoodie since it fit really big and just slept without pants (but key on the underwear lmao) cuz why not. I walked back out and handed him back the sweatpants
"Or don't wear pants ok that works too" He says and laughs and I laugh too. He put them away them grabbed out an extra blanket to set up on the floor.
"You don't have to sleep in the ground Daniel it's your home" I say and he stops
"No it's fine you can sleep on the bed-"
"Daniel it's fine we've known each other for so many years it's not gonna be awake sleeping in the same bed and I don't wanna be alone right now" I say and he thought about it "Please" I add and do puppy dog eyes.
"Fine but just because you shouldn't be alone right now" He finally agrees and sits next to me on the bed. I set my phone on the bedside table and Daniel took off his shirt. I looked over and saw his abs
"Oooooh someone's been working out" I say jokingly knowing he works out 24/7.
"Yeah gotta get that summer body ready" He says and flexes his muscles.
"Summer is a long time away" I say with a small laugh.
"Yeah but I'm prepared" He says and smiles.
"Alrighty well goodnight" I say and close my eyes already falling asleep.
"Goodnight y/n" Daniel says and we both fall asleep.
