The blonde man that Minerva had snapped at looked a bit shocked to have witnessed her reaction. Tears threatened to fall from her green eyes, and she was quite tense. He attempted to speak to her gently, nonetheless.

"Calm down, Min, we can talk about it, as soon as we get back to our room", he reassured her, reaching out to place his hand on her arm.

The moment she saw him reach for her, she had pulled back, scoffing, "You think a manipulative conversation with you is going to fix shit?!"

I felt my stomach twist from watching all of this happen. I had anxiety about conflict and confrontation, in general, so it wasn't a great thing to be added onto how overwhelmed I felt, ever since I got here. My mind began spinning.

What did he mean by our room

Where in the hell was I staying, then?

Jerry pursed his lips out of frustration, "Babe", he spoke as calmly as he could. "You're causing a scene. Let's just go and talk-"

He then got cut off by the black-haired female in a passive aggressive manner, "No, I'll just go!"

With that, she turned around to leave, and I began to feel quite nauseous. I won't be able to survive in here without this girl, if something happens. This made my heart sink.

Jerry successfully pulled her back, "Minerva", he spoke in a more stern voice. "I'll cut you some damn slack, because you're younger than me, but you should also know better than to run off like that!" He scolded. "This is New fucking York. There's drugs, creepy men, and nothing but pigeon shit. If you run away, you'll never be seen again. Do you hear me?!"

 Do you hear me?!"

Jerry was right. God knows what would happen if this girl ran out. She had more balls than me, considering I could never even go to a midnight store trip for even some milk. The night was always a terrifying thing for me.

Much to my surprise, though, Minerva failed to listen to the older male. She huffed, pulling back violently. "Jesus, Jerry! When are you going to stop behaving like you're my father or whatever?! First, the haircut, and now this?"

Sadly, Jerry only had so much patience for the young woman. "Listen, it's not my fault you have Daddy issues. God forbid I think you're much prettier with long hair, and that I want to keep you safe!"

I could tell Jerry immediately began to regret his words, as it only caused Minerva to push him away, further.

"You just don't get it!" She snapped, once again. "I'll spell it out for you; I don't need you, so fuck off!"

And my worst fear of tonight had came true-- the girl I needed to stick to had ran away. Without thinking, I quickly moved to follow her, but was stopped by a strong pair of arms pulling me back; Eddie.
