Happy 27k reads. My heart is so happy right now. I started this book about 4 years ago, had been on hiatus for almost 2 years since pandemic got in our way and almost got stuck on chapter 29. I admit that I lost focus and missed my writing era. And then a few of my readers pmed me that they've missed me so bad and wanted to finish my books. And just like that, I got motivated and decided to continue to write again as an inspiration drew me back into this passion. So, here's a present for you...let me give you some butterflies in your stomach as we sail the ship of the second lead couple.
______________Dylan
We were on a mission and very close to the pack called the Moiness Pack. Until the day began like any other, the sunrise blinded us for a seconds. There had been no indication that my life would irrevocably change today. Never did occurred to me that this day would be the tipping point for my future. And yet it was.
I never liked to be a Hunter. I understood my father's hatred for werewolves. I hated them too but I actually don't think that every were and every pack has anything to do with my mother and sister's death. I wanted to stop his hatred and move on with our lives, so I convinced him but it ended with me having an harshly punishment.
The sun has risen and before we could retreat and finally go home. A werewolf appeared in a split second, it was so fast, we did not even noticed her.
She didn't also. It was expected since we had bath in kamerol to masked our human scents.
And then, there it was!
I then knew that this werewolf was a girl as it has an indication of femininity in her movements. And it was the most stunning wolf I had ever seen. The cut of its fur was unique, none approach its beauty. Suddenly, my heartbeat raced in a manner that I couldn't understand. Confused, I lost my stance and had withdrawn the trigger of my crossbow. It hit her in the chest.
Still, I forced myself to remain collected and demanded her to shift into her human form. As the change came over her, an unimaginable force bursted in every cell in my body. A mysterious enigma called to my very soul. Nothing else around me seemed to sense anything different.
Excitement and joy were the only things that run through to my mind. Not until it turned out to be an utter sorrow as the devastating truth hit me.
I was a mate of a werewolf.
And my father would never agree.
With a sheer fact that my father would eliminate her this instant because of the horrible truth that she was a werewolf caused excruciating pain to shudder through me.
She remained quiet, she seemed shocked and contemplating what was happening. She wrapped her arms around herself, never leaving her eyes on me. Her eyes filled with tears and ran down her cheeks. Even with her messy hair, she was stunning.
I couldn't bring my eyes to look at her naked body. I gulped and gritted my teeth and I glanced over my shoulder toward where my family Hunters.
"Whoa, Dylan, you got to be kidding me. You stripped down a lady." In my peripheral vision, Deaton smirked. I haven't even realized they were now aiming her with their crossbows, ready to pull the trigger.
My instinct suddenly wanted to tear him into pieces for the sheer audacity that he had licked his lips while staring at her body.
She shot back, sounding like an empowered queen, "Well, you came with so few. I'm afraid you have to triple your task force of men to collect one young girl." The word young sounded like a trick and she almost snorted. I knew it, she wasn't that young. But as much as how I hated Deaton, I didn't like that she had spoken first to him.
