"Hey Steve?" Hela asked, a bored tone in her voice. "mm?" "can we do something fun?" Steve put his book down. "What do you have in mind??" asked Steve, curious to see what Hela meant by 'Fun' (Not like that you dirty minded bitches) "can we go to the mall?" asked Hela, secretly hiding her crossed fingers behind her back. Steve, spying her crossed finger dumbly agreed to the request. Now Hela was a lot older now, and her interests had changed deeply. At age ten, she was still obsessed with the solar system and how it works. But also grew to love animals and nature.
As they walked along the long aisles of the mall, Steve caught Hela gazing at a group of girls, who looked to be around the same age as her. They were all trying on the latest trends and buying expensive clothes. Hela never had really been into shopping and stuff, but she still did envy those girls. Sure she could buy all the things they were buying and more. But it wasn't the clothes she was envying.... It was the love. All the girls looked like they were really close and were great friends. He la never had any close friends.. She had never even gone to a real school either. Scarlet (Scarlet Witch) and Tony had always homeschooled her, it had been like this for as long as she could remember. She knew the only reason she was still being homeschooled was because they were afraid of what would happen with other kids, because she was......'Different'.
"Hey, let's go look in the pet store" suggested Steve suddenly, breaking Hela out of her trance. "Okay!" Hela agreed happily. All the feelings of jealousy Hela had been feeling towards those girls immediately disappeared when Steve said this.
"Don't do that, you'll scratch the glass" said Steve laughing at Hela, who had her face pressed up against the glass looking at the kittens. "But they're so cuteeee! 😺" squealed Hela, like that would help her win the argument. To Steve, Hela was referring to all the kittens, but there was one in particular that she was gaming at dreamily. It was jet black and much smaller than the rest, the only thing that stood out from its tiny little body were its giant emerald green eyes, just like Hela's. Hela looked at Steve, then at the cat, then at Steve again........"Pleaseeeeeeeee?" Steve sighed so load you thought that even the cat win very through the glass. "Hela, you know we can't get tha-" Steve started "I will look after it, I was feed it, bath it, and care for it like my own baby!" spoke Hela solemnly, her hand held high in a solute. "Uh-Huh, you said that about your fish too." "I was THREE!!!!" Hela protested. "Hela, the final answer is no, come on, we need to get back home now."As they walked back, Hela's held sagging. They walked past those same girls still shopping. Steve glanced at them and realised they were all laughing and pointing......at Hela. "Stuff it" Steve grunted and dragged Hela back to the pet store anger flaring up in his eyes. Nobody messes with Hela, nobody. "I'll take the black one, with green eyes thanks" Steve blurted out before he could change his mind. The shop keeper looked confused as to why they would want the little runt out of all the other Tabby's. "Okayyyyy" He said, with weird look still plastered over his face.
Never had he seen Hela so happy, never in his life. She was walking back the way she came with that tiny kitten asleep in her arms. Right past the same girls... With they're mouths all open in shock. "Emmy" Hela spoke suddenly. "Her name is Emmy, short for emerald.." Steve just smiled to himself. 😃
