i froze on the spot, still holding the strawberry pepero in my hand.

"huang renjun, are you joking? because i suggest you don't joke around like that--"

"i'm serious," renjun interrupted chaeyeon. "park minjoo, i know it's sudden to you but i... yeah, i like you a lot. it's pepero day... so i thought i should confess before i regret it."

i was not expecting this at all. like, at all.

renjun may be really annoying at times, but it's what makes him a fun friend, and i was glad that he was my deskmate.

but, i had no idea he had feelings for me... how good do you have to be at hiding emotions that you can sit through your crush talking about their crush and it's not you?

okay, since i'm currently holding this pepero in my hand, i have to give him an answer.

if i date renjun, what happens?

seungmin and chaewon will be able to date without worrying about me, renjun will be happy, and i... i would be fine, right?

renjun's expression was getting darker by the moment, like he was regretting what he said. chaeyeon was basically the pikachu meme.

i could tell there were a few other students in the class watching us, since you can basically hear everything across the room.

i don't know if it was because i was still salty at seungmin, or if i was just feeling a bit wild that day, but i decided, why not date renjun?

i looked at the pepero in my hand, gave a short laugh, and said, "okay, i'll date you."

i ate the pepero. wait. renjun better not say this is a joke.

"what?" now renjun was the pikachu meme.

"i'm eating the pepero, so... that means i'm going out with you now?"

"HOLY--OH MY GOD CONGRATULATIONS," chaeyeon yelled.

now everyone in the classroom had their attention on us. thanks, chaeyeon.

the rest of the school day, i felt really weird. my deskmate that i was such close friends with... was now my boyfriend?

i totally focused on the teacher's lessons.

once the bell rang, chaeyeon and yeji walked over to my desk.

"so," yeji said.

"we shall add one more to the number of couples in our class," chaeyeon grinned.

"let's go!" yeji shouted, pulling chaeyeon away with her. "we can't bother the new couple!"

"guys, where are you going?" i shouted after them.

they left without me, laughing.

"did you finish the pepero?" renjun asked.

i ended up walking home with renjun, because freaking lee chaeyeon and hwang yeji--nevermind.

"no, want some?" i said, taking out the pepero from my backpack.

"i'm fine," he said.

we walked in silence, kind of awkward.

"i didn't think you would actually date me," renjun finally said.

"why, wanna break up already?" i joked.
