type of chapter: short storythe girl was found washed up on the river bank, left after their parents figured out that she was indeed female, (you see, no one really talks about sex ed over there.) once figuring out that the child was, *gasp* female, they threw her into the river. in my opinion, that's a horrible way to teach someone how to swim, but i digress.
before they chucked her into the river, they clothed her in a beautiful, pink saari, her hair plaited, (i'm not really sure how you'd plait a newborn's hair, extensions maybe?). of course, the girl had to look presentable, dressing provocatively would mean she'd be disgraced and her noncey male relatives would look at her with lust, violating her. 'but she's a newborn!' i hear you think, and yes, i can hear you. well, infantophilia exists.
the girl was placed in a cooking pot, her head resting on a cleaning sponge, a reminder of her duties in life. she must carry out all the household tasks whilst her male relatives sit and do nothing, quite fair, am i right? that's the duty of a woman, cook and clean for the men in your life, first your father and brothers, and then your husband when you get married off to some middle-aged man as soon as you turn twelve.
'what about her schooling?' you think. school? why bother? if you fail your parents will smack you with a chappel, and you simply can't risk it.
a/n: yes this is how all brown girls worldwide (south asiawide?) come into existence, you see when a mommy and daddy don't love each other very much as they had an arranged marriage, they- i'll stop. gute nacht.
